More trouble with my CLS-6 spd

Last year it was a bent valve, which required new valve assemblies and $3k worth of warranty, car was in the shop for 3 weeks at Esserman acura. This time my outside temp guage wasn't working so I took it back in to Esserman. Well in the process of replacing a burned out part, my odometer was set back zero! No problem right? Wrong! Because today I went to a dodge dealer to check a SRT-4. While I was doing that they appraised my CLS-6. When they were done they told me that because they couldn't verify the mileage on my car, they appraised it as TMU (total mileage unknown) said they could only offer me $10k, vice $18k. They said "the TMU killed the car." They wouldn't give me a written appraissal for legal reasons, but said I should go back to Esserman and demand they buy back my car. I haven't been back to Esserman yet, I want to talk to my legal dept. at work for advice. Anyone have any advice.

My advice, follow thru with what you're doing. TMU just killed your resale value, and the dealership should be responsible (period).

Make sure you get your legal stuff figured out before you contact the dealership. They'll have lawyers, so you gotta make sure you've got yours.

That is really fucked up...

Why can't the dealer just reset it back to where it was? Legally I think they have to. Did the dealer know it set to zero?? Sounds like you're overdramatizing it.

i think that when the dealer replaces an instrument cluster, it starts at 0. what they do is put a sticker or something on the door jam that lists what the mileage was when you had the odometer replaced.

P.S. that service advisor Martin sucks ass. trying to be Mr. cool guy like he knows what he's talking about and everything he does is like a favor for you. and the service manager is some fat fuck white haired dude that apparently doesnt like to deal with younger people when they have a problem with the service.

next time you have a problem, take it to whichever service advisor and try to talk to one of the mechanics... Mike to be specific. he usually works on the left side. he hooked me up and installed my front pads and rotors AND replaced a broken wheel stud for $60. Martin, the nice guy doing me a favor, wanted to charge me ONLY $160.

South FL Acura dealers all SUCK anyway! That's some shaddy ass dealer too. It's their fault. They should fix it. They won't buy the car back. No chance in that.

Well first off, are you even planning on selling your car anytime soon? And if you are why would you want to sell it to the dealer anyways? I think you can get a lot more money if you sell your car privately and since it's a 6-speed I believe you can get tons more. So if the dealer has no record of your previous mileage on your car, drive it for couple more month or how ever long and sell it then. But I hope they didn't tag your car as TMU.

I know what you all are talking about. What's up with there parts dept people too. It's like an inconveinence that you are there. So now, when I drop my car off and pick it up, I'm sure to go to the parts dept and ask them for prices on silly things while i'm waiting. Such as body part clips, valve retainers, radio knobs, stuff with no real order to it. They Blow. It's fun to waste their time though while i'm waiting.

get em to buy back the CL-S...regardless even if you have to go to court! You will win...Cause the dealer are the ones that reset the meter...unless you knew it would happen and you signed something stating that you understand what will happen... But I doubt you did sign something like that so you wont have any problems...sue em if ya want and buy a new NSX

yes, esserman acura sucks.

they used to be good. a lot of the people that used to work there (the service advisors and a few of the techs) opened up there own shop right across. it's literally between dolphin mall and international mall. its called Doral Autotek.

anyways, esserman has washed my car one time and one time only. that was more than 2 years ago when i got the first oil change. they conveniently forgot to dry a few spots and left some beautiful water spots and they used some greasy ass shiny shit all over my interior. that thing was blinding and it didnt wear out for a few weeks.

I wanted to apologize for my previous post. I was not happy with the service I was recieiving and felt like I was just getting the run around. I wanted to thank Mike for helping me out with my problems. He is really modest. I tried to pay him for his troubles but he wouldnt accept. Thanks a lot. If i ever have any questions about my car, I know who to ask. As for Martin, I dont like his attitude and feel that he could of been more helpful and it's perfectly fine if he doesn't like me. It's not an issue to me. Anyways, I just wanted to apolgize.

I AGREE!!!!!!!!

KIA's and CHRYSTLER's that's all they drive in South Florida according to car sale statistics. I would't trade my lawn-mower for a Dodge never mind a CL-s 6sp.

How in the hell did you bend a valve? Blow the T-Belt? Problem since factory?

I work at a dealer and all we are required to do if the mileage is lost is to tag the new odometer with the old mileage, as long as you authorised the work they aren't liable even if the mileage is lost.

That Dodge dealer is the horses ass, they just have to verify with Acura about the repair.
