Mods questions for you.

I am new to mods. I am looking to mod my car. I got few questions for mods people.

1. AEM CAI – how many horses can I install it myself? How much?

2. Springs/Sways- how much, how low. Will car look good with stock rims? Better handling with springs? Do I need springs only to lower my car or I need sharks to? Will I lose comfort ride or not.

3. Headers- How many horses any noise from them?

4. Pulleys- What for? What they do? How much it coast Web site to look at?

5. Exhaust- How many horses, how hard to install it? How much for good one with Big tips on the end. I need deep sound

6. V-AFC- what is it? If Performance mod how many horses? How much is it? Web site to look at?

7. Plugs- Why, what for?

Thanks so much.

Alright ya lazy bastard, i'll answer them for ya...

1. 8-12 hp, some say 10-15 hp, who knows. you can install it yourself. people here will help you if you run into problems. should cost aroundd $200.

2. Springs, you have many choices, around 200-300. You chose the brand and model based on the drop you want. I'm not going to list all of them for you, tell me the kinda drop you want, and i'll tell ya a brand. Will look a lot better with any rims, but to really improve the handling go with the $300 sways. That will reduce body roll on the turns. Huge improvement, i will be getting them soon. Shocks you will have to get eventually, see related active link about "pro-kit" to see how long stock shocks will alst. Ride will be more rough with just springs, adjustable shocks will bring it back to stock if you so desire.

3. Comptech headers, $1200, around 30 hp, little bit of noise.

4. pulley, basically lightened pulleys for the alternator, etc in your engine. reduces parasitic drag on the engine, and "frees up" some horsepower. pretty tough install like the headers.

5. exhaust, lots of options, some are easier to install than other. around $500 for axle back, not much hp though since we already have a free flow setup.

6. VAFC is a piggy back computer for our ECU, lets you adjust VTEC engagement point. concensus seems to be that it isnt worth it, but with more mods and forced induction it can help. around $300.

7. Plugs, better fire in the cylinder. need i say more ??? hope this helps, maybe we should have other go over this, and CHOD can FAQ it.
