Mods needed to take Mustang???

Alright, I have a 03 TLS, stock except for a K&N drop in. I have decided I am going to get headers, just haven't ordered them yet. There is a guy I work with that just got a 01 or 02 Mustang GT auto convertible and has very subtly mentioned that he wants to see how fast his car is. What would I need to take him, wouldn't headers do it??

Since it's an auto and convertible, I'd say I/H and some good driving would run about even with him in the 1/4.

I found these numbers the first is for a 02 GT auto, the second is for a 01 GT auto convertible, from car-stats.com

0-60: 6.3 Transmission: Automatic
1/4 Mile: 15.1
1/4 Speed: 93

0-60: 6 Transmission: Automatic
1/4 Mile: 14.7
1/4 Speed: 96

Pretty much even???? Anyone had any experience racing them with a stock CL-S/TL-S?? Numbers are great they don't prove much.

Yeah, I asked him that same question, in his defense, he doesn't know much about cars. He said to me, "well is got a v-8 it should be fast, and I got it cheap" He is pretty much a dipshit. I am playing it cool not talking too much until he actually does want to play, then I will try to take some money from him.

With that extra weight from the vert top get some headers and an intake as well as some sticky rubber and you'll be set.

what male would by a auto mustang and then to add insult to injury he gets a conv.

you should be able to take him straight up in a race.

What kind of miles does the stang and your car have on them?? what year did ford go to the 260 hp from the 220 hp 4.6 liter??

The 96 to 97 GT had 215hp. In 1998 they got a 10hp boost to 225. Then from 1999-2004 they've had 260hp. With the current Mach 1's getting 305hp.

Are these crank HP or WHP rated numbers? Also, how much do each of these stangs weigh?

Also, I'm wondering if these HP #'s are under rated like those that claim that the LS1 (firebird) HP #'s are. Or are they just blowing smoke up each other's #sses?
