Talking Mid-muffler Delete

Yes, i know there are many threads about that and sorry, but i got couple questions that i cant find answers to.

First, i wanna find out if there are any cons for deleting your mid-mufflers to the car like effecting your performance, cant pass emissions, etc...

Second, is there a possible way to weld back the mid muffler if i dont like the sound bc i heard some ppl say it sounds too ricey. (Sorry if its a dumb question)

If you couldn't find the answers, you didn't look very hard lol.

Pros:
-Deeper and louder sound
-Does NOT affect emissions in ANY way
Cons:
-Absolutely Zero measurable gains

You can weld it back no problem. It's gonna have some weld scars, but no biggie. Cost should be about $40 to take it out. Same to put it back.

People have had mixed feelings after taking the mid muffler off. Some like it, some think it sounds raspy. If you got 80-100 bucks to play around with then you can get it welded off and put back on if you don't like it. I don't want to waste that money and rather put it towards mufflers (which I did).

Depends what you want to do with your car. I had mine done before I did my headers and it sounded acceptable enough but afterwards it was a lot worse. I agree with jmoney that you should just get an exhaust but if not, it's about 80 bucks for the delete

mid-muffler delete with stock headers is sweet with stock headers, but with aftermarket headers its raspy.

Throw in a14" magnaflow resonator at least. Deleting the mid muffler will give you rasp and drone

Question: what is the mid muffler? Is this the resonator? I'm assuming its not the cat....

Also, on another note, is there any exhausts out there still available besides the CT? Not that it isn't nice, I'm just curious what else is available still.

mid muffler is before the mufflers and before the Y split to help quiet the exhaust.

It goes headers--cat----------------mid muffler--<two mufflers

The Tanabe catback is also available.

I see.

Just looked up the Tanabe... $1k MSRP, little rich for my blood haha. I'll continue cruising around here with my eyes open for a second hand CT axleback...

Mid muffler is the same as resonator. People are using them interchangeably.

Here's mine. HKS Super Drager axle back non resonated. I have 0 problems with this, doesn't really drone terribly bad at all.

Don't mind the old video with stock wheels and 4x4 status.

Any other opinions on this? I'd like to add a bit more sound, but don't want to spend $500+ to do it.

No resonator on the CL, just the mid muffler. The TL has an additional resonator.

just go buy a resonator and replace it ...its like a straight pipe but it will make it much less raspy ...u might see a 1-2hp gain ...i mean it is a little restrictive so it might yield a coupe ponies.
