Any pros and cons on the Michelin Pilot Sports 235/45 R17 for a CL-S?

As mchstype (sp?), he burned up a set at the strip with his 3.5L engine.

Have a look here for reviews of various tires:

http://www.carreview.com/reviews/tires/

You might want to also consider:

Toyo T1s Proxies (if you ever hit the wet, it will kill the Pilots)
S03 -- these are the new kid on the block, and around the same price.

And you will get a ton of other suggestions... Check the link -- I have a review in for the Toyos, the reviews seems good, and they review the Pilots there.

You can also look at tire rack customer satisfaction of Max Performance Tires (S03 top, S02 next, then Pilots [they don't carry Toyos or Nittos]):

Actually it was Doug (syncivic) who burned up those Michelin Pilot Sports (235/40/ZR18) when they dragged their experimental Gen I 3.5L CL-S at Moroso: http://www.acura-cl.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/004861.html
mchtypes is running on SSr wheels and the car DOug and Mr. Brown tested ran on Racing Hart rims.. not the light ones either

You can also consider Kumho ECTSA 712 in a 235/45/17. Load is 94. Cost ~$100. Good review as well on tirerack. I am considering this set for my CL-S.

$150 to $160 for the T1S in 235/45-17 is the "good" price. I had some places quote me over $200 each.

I do get free rotate AND balance every 6 months/6000 miles for free too...

You missed the point --> the price included the free balance and rotation -- meaning you should be able to get them for even less...
