Ok guys I got another one for you. So, the other day I went at it with the 330i and saw that Ferrari. I know I've had a new story for you guys for the last couple of days, so here is yet another one to add, and it is the strangest of all. I am talking to my friend who lives next to me about cars, he has always been pretty knowageable. So I am telling him the same shit you guys have heard, and out of no where he says "I bet I can take you in my Miata". I think the kid is crazy but none the less we went for a ride. 1st gear mine, 2nd gear mine, 3rd gear mi......., all of a sudden I look in my rear view and see the front end of his car lift off the ground. This fucker fails to tell me that he has nitrous oxide in his car not to mention about 5000 additional dollars into it. I get into 4th and he is flying by me,,, I just gave up. It is the strangest thing that I have ever seen in my life. But the fact remains, I got beat by a Miata

There's a lady out here with a self-modified Miata (yes guys you heard that right, a WOMAN modified a car on her own!). It's got a Turbo plus a TON of other mods. She runs I beleive low 11's. She's upgrading the turbo this summer and some other stuff and is hoping for low 10's. You have to watch out for those, they can be made to look like major sleepers... Her racing stripes, baer brakes, rollcage and intercooler may give her car away though....

My only comment on this topic would be, "why?". Why do that to a miata? For the price of that little shitty car, you can get yourself a Camaro SS or a Firebird Formula and modify that and start running that car like you would be running from your old man who is about to kick your ass with his belt.

maybe he uses the miata for autoXing? that and maybe he likes the nimble feel of a small car as opposed to the brute stength of a v-8.

Can't understand some people. Miata = Sleeper? I wouldn't want to waste my time nor my gas trying race a Miata if they were revving at me at a light. Turbo or no turbo. If they want a sleeper, get a CLS and de-badge it or get a TLS and debadge the 'Type S' and get some headers and CAI and other perf. mods. At least those sleepers would be somewhat stylish compared to a hot wheel on 16" rims.

funny, because I'm always thinking... why would you bother to make a Camaro SS even faster? They are fast as hell stock and so what if they can easily be made to go much faster? What is the fun and challenge in that? If I ever do a drag car I'm goin with a Civic hb or something. To me, getting a Civic in the 11s is a much bigger challenge than getting a Camaro in the 8s or 9s.

 

The question is why not!?! The miata is one of the most popular platforms in Japan for modification. It can easily outhandle your firebird or camaro (with mods, of course...see www.racingbeat.com )
And a small, light car feels better to drive around in...not to mention, parking is a breeze. My final point, a lot of people like the feel of a roadster, reminds them of those old British roadsters, like Triumphs..not everyone is into a brute V8...BTW I love muscle cars as much as the next guy, but to each their own...even riceboys...<----nah!!! HAHAHAHA

yeah...personally...i wouldnt put n2o in a miata...but to each his own. i use to think miata's were chick cars...but after watching all those option videos and seeing some local X races...i have a lot of respect for that little car. plus, i heard driving that thing is fun as hell...

 

I was actually looking at this excerpt from SCC and they tested a stock miata with the sport package at .95G!!!! That will blow the doors off 90% of the cars that are reportedly sportscars...not that I am knocking all of them just skidpad numbers tend not to lie.
