Mesh Grill

I have recently attempted to make a mesh grill. I purchased the hinged gutter guard from Lowe's, cut it, and put it in the grill. It doesn't quite fit, there is a gap at the bottom. How can I fix this? Possibly solder it?

You need to cut it better. Leave some extra & trim it as it sits in the grill shell. Takes a few tries.
