Mentally Dangerous Noises!!!

i have 2 noises that arent listed and im sort of scared of one of them...
one is here:

it sounds like Aunt Jemima is sitting in the quarter panel between the panel and the sheet metal banging a spoon on a pan whenever i go over the slightest bump in the road. i have inspected the suspension AND exhaust numerous times with no answer.... it literally comes from that exact spot

the other is in the engine bay. north of the tranny and somewhere between the TB and firewall. its a hiss and sounds like big leak in an air compressor hose/fitting. Ive got the stock air box..

i cant figure out what either of them are and its killing me cause ive successfully done every kind of maintenance to the car myself and cant figure it out! help plz?

I would take off the trim panel on the quater and have somebody sit back their and listen for the noise, but you have to take the rear seat out.. kinda sucks.

The noise in the engine.... I have the same thing kinda like a hissing/tapping noise, mine isn't loud but i can hear it when the hoods open.
Solution: put an intake on it to cover up the sound

I had a rattle in the first spot when I first purchased my CL-s. It turned out to be a bolt was loose behind the back seat. I didn't find it til I removed my back seat for tint.

I would say its something in your suspension though if its loud.

i had that tapping noise in the quarter panel and still do. but mine was because when it my car got hit on the side and needed a new quarter panel, the dumb mechanics left a 10mm socket inside... annoying as hell, but i plan to have them remove it.

How about the rear sway bar endlink?

It doesnt have to be loose to KNOCK very loudly. It can just not be tightened all the way down. That's one option I would take a look at.

Good suggestion with the sway bar end link. This can be busted and can be very easily overlooked.

Also, it can just be loose and the play can cause a thumping sound.

If you have a stock sway bar then it most likely isn't the end link though.

No idea what else it could be.

True, but it could be the stock sway bar, mine was making the noise with my stock on the car, I got up in there, tightened the endlink allen/hex bolt and the knocking was gone. My knocking was BAD, very, very loud.

ive got a progress TL sway bar and moog(spelling?) end links, all tight. thats not the problem...the loud as hell banging comes from inside the quarter panel i know for a fact...guess ill be taking it apart this weekend... and the hissing doesnt come from the intake or the throttle body. im scared of the noises cause the banging sounds like the control arm might snap off while im making an aggressive turn =P.

This may or may not help you, but the Mass Airflow Sensor is located where your engine bay noise is coming from.

All I can guess is that there is some kind of air leak coming through...

the Mass Airflow Sensor is part of the computer system.

I don't really know a hell of a lot about it... but I figured there must be... airflow there... which could explain the hissing sound in the engine bay if there was a leak of some kind.
