What happens when you go from a roll with a MB SL55 AMG in a stock TL-S?? How about a big time butt whoopin!!!

I had been chasing this guy for about a mile when he realized I was trying to get him to nail it. I knew these things were ungodly fast, I just wanted to see for my own eyes. Well he did, I chased him down and we ended up at a set of lights on HWY 100 and Lincoln (I'm in Wisconsin). He looks over at me, middle age guy, real cool, and says "You know I will rip you apart, right?". Me, "Yeah, but what the hell" Light turns green we both roll off the light as I am gate shifting it, in first right now. At about 15-20, we both simultaneously hit it I turned the tires over pretty good and it wasn't until l was about to shift to 2nd , that the beating took place, shift to 2nd at about 40, ripping the tires over again, by the time I hit about 70 he was I would say 3-4 cars ahead of me. He slowed down as we caught another light, both of us smiling ear to ear he says, "You know you're gonna get me in trouble!" Me,"Yeah but you don't see many of those beauties around, you got one hell of a car!" To my surprise he says, "I really like you car too, that is one sweet sounding engine" We talked for a minute or two before the light changed and then parted ways, I have to say this guy was probably the coolest guy I have ever raced, did not have an attitude at all about his car. Let me tell you when that supercharged V-8 starts to roll, watch out!!!!!!! You are in TROUBLE!!!!

Nash, I believe they run mid 12s and that's not faster than a Viper which will run low 12s

 

Just from looking around on the internet I hav seen numbers stock for the MB SL55 AMG to be around 12.4-12.6, not too far off of the Viper, I have to say though, based on looks, I would much rather have the MB, if you are a moron with cars, it doesn't look like it would be as fast as a Viper which is what I like, at least something that looks somewhat like a sleeper to the non car nut, but man does that thing growl when he got on it!!

One more thing as far as the Viper - SL55 AMG matchup, the SL55 AMG is damn fast for being 750lbs heavier than a Viper!

 

E55...looks like even less, you debadge that car, and just waste unsuspecting people.

 

What a sick car! Sometimes i race (or try too) cars on the highway just to see how fast they are. I was messing with a corvette once just to see if he'd floor it so i could see how quick it was

i have never raced one but i was behind one and he tried to lose me , i stuck on his bumper as shit does to a blanket, he ended motioning me to pull over and we talked he was quite shocked that he could pull away

No BS, like I said when I hit 70 I was 3-4 cars behind him, he had let off right when I shifted to 3rd. Think about it when I hit say 60 he was probably around 80-90, whats the point of still going he knew he killed me. Doing that on a 40 mph street right after rush hour not too smart. He proved his point and let off. Anyway why would I BS about that I got killed and I got killed damn good, there is no doubting that in the least bit. Anyway 3-4 cars by the time I hit 70 in my eyes is about a bus length, yeah I was really close wasn't I!!

 

Man your story sound a little like mine. I once race this guy in an E55 but I actually thought it was a 320. This guy put at least 2 cars on me before I could even shift to third. He told me I had a nice little coupe. Man I was so embarrass

Renegade what is yor deal?? Did you ever think to ask exactly what happened before you start flaming people, did you ever think that maybe the MB E55 didn't go full throttle or maybe he shut it down after he put a few on the Acura. I don't know many people that drive MB's like this that are willing to go full throttle against everyone that wants to race them. The guy I raced did, and he said he did. Most of them will just put enough on you to beat you and shut it down, would you want to risk wrecking a $100,000 car, not me. When was the last time you raced a E55 AMG or a SL55 AMG?? Or haven't you taken the trainig wheels off of your bicycle yet?

 

Sorry buddy but I got a Cl just like you do no bicycle. Ya i love the cl and it will beat a lot of the cars on the road, but why post a race if its a second long or if the guy wasnt really trying. I doubt the sl55 got you by 2 cars going full throttle. I just dont like people putting these stories up like they didnt get blown away that bad.

I can't answer for blk_coupe but I can honestly say my story is nothing but the truth. He had me by 3-4 cars by the time I hit 70, it wasn't a second long, and he admitted he was going full throttle from a roll.

 

I really don't care what anyone thinks. It's obvious he didn't read my story. I never said how many cars I lost by. I clearly stated that the man put 2 cars on me before I even shift to 3rd. Which mean I never shift to 3rd. It was a stop light race.
