It will kick some azz, but also look like every other C-class benz on the road.
Great if you like to be stealth tho..

Don't know the specs, but I have a friend w/ one and it's a BLAST to drive, I love the car, almost considered getting one. Go test drive one. It's a pretty quick little car

Absolutely a great car, as long as you don't mind it being an Automatic....I can't say much bad about them. They have 302hp/302lbs ft. torque (0-60 is like 5.9sec).

Most certainly a conservative looking car, but has a tough appearance at the same time.

Try going to MBWorld, they have a C43 forum.....look around/do a search.

I'm sure you'll find more info than you know what to do with.

This is the link.......

302hp/300lb-ft ... 4.3 outta the E430 tuned up another 25hp ..

Runs the 0-60 in 5.8 and 1/4-mile in 14.5 (C&D stats)

Great car .. for a lux/power ride... doesn't handle exceptionally well for it's RWD nature .. typical cush AMG/Benz ride .. not as firm as the //M suspension packages...

Slow outta the hole (as are all MB's of old) but picks up speed quick... should be able to pick up one for mid 30's w/ fair to low miles..

As for mods. I would say Brabus is the best. They are also quite pricey. I think the 4.3 liter block in the C43 is the same one they bore and stoke to 6.1 liters. 426 hp and 621 Nm... which I do not to know the lb.\ft. conversion for. They can mod the car from top to bottom. They also make wheels.

I love that C43 AMG... I love the C32 AMG (02-03) even more ... I do however know that if you ever disliked comptech for price gouging all I gotta say about Brabus is "you ain't seen nothin' yet" .

If you can get a c32AMG, you would save money and there really isn't a huge difference in performance, I was actually dissapointed to see that a bump up 2 more cylinders on ly took ff a couple 10ths of a second on the 0-60.

since the C32 is newer id figure it to be in the mid 40's used. the C43 is the 98 model so its prolly in the high 20's - mid 30's. while the C32 is faster and more comparable to the current M cars, he would need to shell out another 10g's atleast.

INFAMOUS-TYPE-S: Nice call on the C32 and C43 powerplant / performance difference. I think the same damn thing about the new S4! I'd love to have any of those four cars, but think the two V8 powered ones should step away from their smaller engined brother. Oh well.

i really dont know what you 2 are talking about. the c32 is 340 hp and is way faster than the c43 the c43 is no improvement on the c32 in anyway espescially because the c43 came before the 32. maybe you mean the difference between the c320 and the c43. the c32 was just compared to the M3 and new S4. its def faster than a 5.9 car. the c43 is an old body style and the c32 is the new one. i really dont get how you came up with those statements.

when you guys say C32, you are thinking of the C36 of that generation.

word... C36 was 1995, 1996, C43 was 1997-199x when they canned it ...

C32AMG will whoop on the E46 M3, smg or 6-spd box .. don't know what you guys are smoking that think the C32AMG isn't "much difference" ..

how about a 1/4-mile of mid14's (C43) to low to mid-13's (C32AMG) .. some claim even high 12's w/ the C32AMG w/ slicks...

that's the beauty of the helical superchaja...

Yes, I mean C36. I took the other poster's comments as fact ... sounds likes it's not true. Nice to see the V8 trounce the 6. What's wrong with the new S4?!

C43 is really nice and very rare.... Go test drive one and you would be hooked!!!

Only about 1500 or so imported to North America.....

Here are the sale figures for C43 AMG

1998 - 579
1999 - 546
2000 - ???

Some ppl would tell you that there is NO 2000 C43 AMG... But it's NOT true.... There are, in fact, 2000 C43 AMGs made... However MB had no mention about it..... And it's extremely rare to find a 2000..... One way to identify 2000 C43 AMG is that, it has manual mode for its automatic(left/right -/+, just like all current MBs)....Rumour has it that no more than 50 has made it to North America.....

Believe it or not, performance figures b/w the C36 and C43 were not that different in a straightline...

i had the chance to race my TL-S against a '95 C36 a loooong time ago .. and it was dead even until about 80mph when he started pulling on me slightly (i only had 1000 miles on the dash .. hadn't quite been broken in yet) ... we both had rolling starts from 10mph ... I wasn't surprised w/ the results

Actually M3 and C32 AMG are about equal... All their times are within 0.2 sec of each other... So, it would be more like a drivers' race....... Besides, most ppl just can't shift as good as professional drivers.... Automatic might actually get some advantage because of that.....

Actually -- w/ slicks on both cars... the C32AMG takes it ... (both drivers assumed to be professionals)

C&D went on and on about how launching the C32 was all about moderating wheelspin and that with wider rims/tires/and stickier rubber .. it'd be mid 12's to high 12's... scary fast

The supercharger just develops more torque down low .. so the C32 should have it outta the hole...

but you're abs. right .. for joe schmoe's like you and me.. it's a driver's race... and a driver's night in jail cuz they're both so darn fast

One big problem with MB is that you can NEVER turn off traction control 100%...... But you CAN on BMWs.... By pressing ESP Off button on center console, the system is still partially on, and still brakes the wheel individually when it's spinning..... But it allow a bit more wheel spin then have ESP on....

P.S. 2000+ E-Class and 2001+ C-Class can have ESP fully shut off by setting the computer to "Diagnosis Mode" @ dealers... But dealer would not let you drive off with ESP fully disengaged..... Oh, and you lose ABS too in Diagnosis Mode....

I'd rather see the M3 win...I mean, c'mon, a SCed 8 vs. a NA 6.

it takes pure talent to build a NA 6 that can perform like the new M3... only other vendors that IMMEDIATELY come to mind are Porsche ...

how hard is it to call up AMG and have 'em drop a s/c into the C class to quickly add a reliable 100/100 to the wheels? not that hard at all ..

I just mixed up the c36 and c32. I was thinking he wanted a 90's benz. cause he said 98. I didn't know he wanted a new one. The 96 c36 and c43 amgs were pretty similar in performance.
