A/F ratio gauges

Do these gauges determine/displays whether your car is running lean or rich? is it beneficial to have when running nitrous to go along with the nitrous bottle pressure gauge?

They don't help you unless you have a wideband O2 sensor!!!

Please could you explain why the stock is not good enough? I am not expert, but if the O2 is good for the Acura Engineer ( NA) why it is not good enough?

It's only a narrow band, accurate at a stoich, (14.7:1), which is good for the environment, but not performance. I'm not sure how narrow it is, but for example, it might be something like 13.5-15.5 to 1, and ouside of that it's not accurate at all. Here is an inexpensive wideband set up. Some where on this site explains it better. http://techedge.com.au/vehicle/wbo2/default.htm

dont get the a/f guage i disconnected it since it screws up the voltage going to the computer.our sensors are very delicate and does not like voltage variations which the guage causes.i had pinging issues and since i removed it it was gone.anyway its not accurate so stay away from it trust me first hand experience.

I have the Tech Edge wideband unit and and O2 sensor I planned on using in a second o2 bung before the cat, with the blower setup.

I just noticed on the site it has a "Narrowband output (with adjustable stoic point) provides sensor signal for ECU."

If I adjust the stoic point to say 12:1, won't this trick the ecu and change the entire fuel map? Might this help with the lean condition Scalbert experienced with the high boost pulley?

Here's another quote from the site.

"The version 1.5 WB unit has a narrowband output and, with care, it can replace the existing narrowband sensor you may have, but note that you run the risk of damage to your vehicle if you run very rich or very lean mixtures for extended periods of time, or for very short period of time on forced induction motors, incorrect mixtures can rapidly cause damage."

Now this makes me think I can richen things up with this unit, and the ecu will think all is well!

The lean condition is really not the ECU... its the limitations of the stock injectors!

complicated..

Nashua, did you have any of the problems TypeS1967 was experiencing? TypeS, could it be that it was an install error?

So allmotor, how can i be able to tell if my engine is running rich or lean when using Nitrous? im only doing a 55 shot so will there EVER be any chance of me going lean?

Modaddict How much is the wideband O2 sensor? and how difficult is it to install?

I don't have any A/F meters at all.

Another option is to use a real-time OBD-II Scanner to read theO2 sensor values. like this oone:

It was under $400, including the wideband sensor from the Parts Bin. Go to this site, it's all there. http://techedge.com.au/vehicle/wbo2/default.htm

I haven't installed it yet, but there's not much to it.

numbaoneexstunna. so you have 2 a/f gauges 1 vafc and autometer. do you have day time pics? i want to see where you mounted it.. the vafc does the same thing right? it displays the a/f ratio but the difference is you can change the settings and change VTEC engagement.
can anyone confirm this?
