MB C-Coupe opinions?

What do you all think of the new C Coupe? I've got a friend considering the CL-S, BMW 325Ci, and the MB. I think it's pretty ugly from the back end, kinda snubbed short if you ask me, and also underpowered, but I think it has the potential to take away from CL sales because of the MB name factor. Anyone test drive this thing?
Give me some ammo to convince my friend to come our way - I only know about our car, not that one, and the MBUSA site has been down for a while.

I think it's a pretty sexy car...I mean...c'mon our CL does leave a little to be desired...I bought it for the content, price, and performance...the looks are okay.

Very true...it's not all about looks. But Do you think American buyers will treat it like they did the BMW 318ti? It didn't even sell 6000 per year, and certainly didn't do anything for BMWs name. 190 supercharged HP for high 20's...I just don't know if that can compete, MB name or not. Gotta see that panaromic roof for myself though. It looks strange in pics...

My good friend has had a C320 for a year now. Great car, very luxurious, has a real solid feel to it; like a mini luxury sedan.

Now the coupe: first, I think its trying to be something that it is not. The rear end is downright ugly, especially with that CRX style window out of the trunk. The last 1/3 is butt ugly. The huge moonroof is real nice, though. But the car seems to be a luxury car and the coupe trying to be a real sporty coupe, not a luxury coupe, just seems to not know what the hell its doing. Not fast, either. I wouldnt buy it. CL-S and 325ci are better cars for sure in the coupe segment.

Heres an unbiased opinion (I dont own ANY of the three): CL-S has all the goodies, with more power, more luxury, more amenities, good handling, nice looks, lower price. 325ci is very expensive, looks real nice with sport package, not many luxury features, great handling, not so good power, not so good in the luxury department.

Tell your friend to go with the CL-S, maybe the 325ci if he can splurge on the sport kit. Then rebadge that shit to a 330... hehehehe... nobody will know.

I will have to agree , it is pretty damn ugly . Consider the rest of the line up is bad ass , why make this mistake. Why not just make a coupe without the ugly hatchback

the car is ok, i've driven them, not much power 192hp (but its got 8 airbags standard) its supposed to be an entry level benz, but if you consider automatic (yuck!) sunroof, headlamp washers, leather, command center, tele-aid your up to about 33,000 the car is targeted to women with an average income of $75,000 + (???)
p.s. if you ever see a c32 stay clear of it it will eat just about anything out there alive - also the clk55 is badass, i drove one last week, and lets not forget the s55 or the clk55 conv (if you have 18 months to wait for one)

Just tell him to drive both cars, if that doesn't sway him, he's hopeless!! That engine is perhaps one of the worst on the planet for smoothness. It sounds like a cheap blender on it's last leg. I drove the previous C Class which had that engine. It's bad. I mean REALLY bad. Hell, I'd forgo the amenities, pocket $7K and buy a 2002 Civic Si (with the silly-ass shifter sticking out of the dashboard and all) before I'd buy that MB piece of crap. And I like Benzes!!!
