Max tire size on stock rim

As i understand it, we have 17x7 on the type s, correct? not 7.5s right?

what's the biggest tires you guys are running on them?

anyone have 235/45s or 245/45s without any major problems.

i have 4 245s that are pretty decent to put on, but they call for min 7.5" rim. I know they'll squeeze onto a 7" but don't want to change them if i'll have problems with them.

thanks for any help.

What he said 235s are the most you can put on 7s.

If I were you, I'd check the tire manufacturers recommendations.

235-40 is way off.... 4.2% too fast.
235-45 is 0.5% too fast

25.3" for 235/45
24.4 for 235/40
25.46" for 215/50
25.68" for 245/45

what i was worried about was width and rubbing though.

may try the 245s on them after all.

Joe
