Zainoff update at PAA

this is just a reminder to everyone who wants to participate in a friendly little competition between Zaino jobs...no entry fee...no real prizes...we'll buy u a few rounds tho if u stick around when we go to D&B...more of a gentleman's bet i hope Shawn & i aren't the ONLY ones participating...Adam was chirping not too long ago that his rims alone will win so looks like he's playin!! Wayne, Jens, & crew appear to b judging, so it's gonna b as objective as it's gonna b, and im sure they'll have their little tests to perform

Dunno chris.....After seeing what Shawn's car looks like in person.....that thing is just unreal.....Even better looking than Neals car. Now, it's blue and reflects light like a MOFO. I know becuse my moms accord is the same color and it looks just as good when zainoed.

For a brand new car, it better look that good.

My car will be 3 years old this summer, so let's keep it all in perspective.

I'm in for sure though.

It should be by year........Best for 01'......02'.......03'. The newer cars have an advantage over the cars that have been through a couple of seasons:P

Zaino Off at PAA

Folks,

At local BMW meets (yes, I own them....let the flaming begin ) they give extra points for year of vehicle and mileage to help offset the difference that age/mileage will make. For example if the total is 100 points, then you could give an additional point for every year since the production year and an additional point for every 10K miles. Here's another way to look at it; 1985 BMW 635CSi with 144K miles. It would get 17 points for age (2002-1985=17) and 14 points for mileage (144000/10000). What we do is to set a maximum of 10 points per each category (age and mileage) to limit the "freebie" points. Even with those it's hard for 'used' car to compete with a 'new' one.

Just a thought for those judging....unfortunately I won't be able to make the meet but the Zainoff would be a kick in the pants .

May the best ZAINOoff person win!!!

Shawn:

Curious...how many coats of Zaino do you have?

I currently have (1) Z5 and (3) coats of Z2 on. Z6 is applied after every wipe off of Z2 or Z5.

My shine is nowhere as deep as yours! I apply forward/backwards on flats, and up/down on verticals!

What AM I DOING WRONG?!

Shawn, perhaps you didn't understand the initial question...

What I mean to say is...How many bottles of Z2 and Z6 do you go through in a week?

Actually I have lost count, but I believe it’s 13 or 14 total coats on the car.
Three or four Z-5 and the rest Z-2.
And always a “mist” of Z-6 when done. (I’m not counting those in the total)
Not bad for just turning TWO MONTHS old last week.

It’s real easy to do multiple coats when you use the ZFX “quick dry” additive.
You can easily do the maximum of (3) coats in about 2 ½ to 3-hours.

Dude... You're gonna need shoulder surgery if you keep up that kind of pace.

Swing by Chicago sometime and throw a couple coats on my car.

I used to mark on the bottles with a black marker so I could see how many applications I was getting, but I stopped doing that.
I get about 8-10 coats of Z-2 out of ONE bottle.
I’m still on my first bottle of Z-5 purchased over two years ago, because I don’t use that much.

All the Zaino stuff is HIGHLY concentrated so you don’t need much.
I just finished up my first bottle of Z-7 car wash mix. And I wash my car ALL THE TIME.
It lasted over TWO YEARS using a cap full at a time.

The stuff is expensive, but it goes a LONG way.

Damn! 13 or 14!

Maybe I'll look into that ZFX thing sometime soon! For now, I try to do one coat every weekend, though it's getting somewhat harder with exams...This summer, I will catch up I guess!

Maybe I should go ahead and buy 3 bottles of Z2 now
