Making Progress on the new CL

Just like any new car added to the stable, you need to got through it.

Here is what I have have done thus far ..
  • New tires ... ride greatly improved...
  • New tires ... ride greatly improved...
  • Oil changed! ... previous owner did keep up with the oil changes, you can tell
  • Wiper blades ... nice to be able to see out the window in the rain.
  • SRS light is now off ... thanks to posts on this forum.
  • Maintenance light is off ... gain thanks to posts on this forum.
  • Inside of car has been detailed, finally had time today ... a clean car is a happy car.
  • New cabin filters installed ... they were gross.
  • Buffed out one of the headlights ... came out good ... will do the other one after I take a picture to compare ...
  • Ordered rear view mirror, mine has the fluid build up, found one for $45

Still to do this weekend ...
  • Replace EVAP Cannister & Shut Valve ... got the parts ... again this forum provides excellent how-to ... will be done tonight after dinner.
  • Buff the other headlight
  • Fix the CD changer ... the hitting method doesn't work! Might need a replacement

I am definitely enjoying the CL, the ride is amazing for a car this old, it must have been wonder when it was new in 2001. Wish I would have bought one then. I am having fun going through the car ... future plans; tint the windows, remove all the badges, pain the rims and the chrome black, want to do the 'black car sleeper' look. then in the spring will decide about the performance stuff ... right now it's just been a nice car to drive to work.

Good work. Where did you find the rear view for $45? I had to get one last year and it was about $70 I believe. Also, the CD changer is a pita for me. Banging it worked for a while but eventually it stopped. It's still got some of my CDs inside when I changed it out for a pioneer double din.

- New plugs are in.
- New air filter.
- EVAP Cannister & valve installed ( did not need to remove rear tire to do this ) pain in the butt putting the screw back in.
- Quick test drive, all very good ... it needed the plugs smoothed it out even more.
- will do pics of headlights and buff out the other one tomorrow.
- I always use www.car-parts.comfor finding used parts. I found a place for the mirror they will ship it on Monday, should get it on Tuesday. And you can find places that are close to your location. I have used this website for years ... it is the first place I go.

if u like improvd handling u NEED progress Rear sway bar and front and rear moog end links.. u'll shyt ur pants when u see the difference.

put it this way. even ur grandma could tell the difference in sway EVEN if she was blind and def.. it's a night an day difference.

I didn't even trust the car on the highway due to how sloppy it handled itself. once I did the sway bar confidence was restored.. then i did front sway bar and end links.. then 18s on low pro's....then i did tein comfort sport suspension

You know CL-Sprogression01 if you would learn how to write just a little bit in English it would probably be possible to learn something from your posts. But that gibberish above is really beyond belief for its lack of communicative substance. I think you said something about your poor blind grandmother shitting out a sway bar and that your car really handles like a piece of shit on the highway (one shudders to think how it must behave on secondary streets - oh and something about you having no confidence until you turned 18. Anyway, as hard as it is to tell what your problems all are I certainly hope they improve soon ... and please, give my best to your grandmother.

It's not that bad, I've seen much worse.

BTW, OP: if you remove the Acura logo from the truck, there are 2 holes behind there. Just in case you missed that somewhere.

My new rear view mirror came only $45 ... it's so much nicer to see out the back, and the auto feature actually works pretty good.

I debadged recently and was happy with it as well, just fyi, the big 'A' emblem has 2 holes into the bumper in case you ever try removing those. Start a build thread so we can see the progress.
