major rock chip, how to fix???

tongiht was a shitty fucking night for my car....i waxed it today too!!! im driving down the highway at about 70 mph and i hear a sound like a rock slamming into my car....thought "oh shit, that didnt sound good" so when i got to my destination i did a walk around...sure as shit, fucking rock hit the passanger side mirror housing...took 4 NICE SIZE chunks out of the plastic and paint right smack dab in the center...not all the way broken, just 4 DEEEEEEP gouges...relatively small in size, yet obvious to the naked eye...what can i do to fix this shit???? do i have to replace it?? what will a body shop charge for that shit?? im so disgusted....

Well, the good thing is it’s plastic and isn’t going to rust.

I would say touch it up yourself first and see what it looks like.
If you’re not happy, look into getting it fixed and painted at a body shop.
But that’s probably going to cost 150-200 bucks or more.

I’m not sure if a replacement mirror housing comes PAINTED or not, so if you go that route you still may need a visit to the body shop.
Another option is to pick one up at the scrap yard from a wrecked CL the same color as yours.
Swap it yourself to save on labor.

i'd b careful with this option since u're gonna have to do work removing, de-wiring, re-wiring, and reinstalling...if u don't mind doing it, more power to u

i personally think going to a shop is a waste of money...if it was the hood or trunk, then id' say yeah go for it...just put like 4 or 5 coats of touchup paint on, and u should b fine
