my car has about 21600 miles on it. maintenance light flashes 10 times whenever i start the car. i guess i'm comin up to 22k miles service. what is done in the 22k svc?

 

You're right, and when it stops blinking it means there has been 7,500 miles put on your car since the last service. Memory says that 21,500 is oil change, tire rotation, check fluids, etc.. i.e. take it to a place that does oil changes and will rotate tires for a reasonable $, or do it yourself. There is a maintenance schedule in your manual. YMMV

 

okay....thanks! since i change my ouwn oil and tire rotation, i'll check the manual on how to turn that light off. i think it's just press the reset button and turn the ignition on. i'll check. thanks again.

 

What needs to be done for the 30,000 mile service? My light just came on for the 30k.

 

Since you have everything for your car already But the ACURA dealer would do this at 30,000 miles. change oil & filter add BG MOA oil conditioner, add BG44K fuel sytem cleaner to gas tank, check brakes adjust parking brake, replace air filter element, replace (2) A/C carbon filters, rotate tire, top off all fluids. The rest of the stuff is checks & inspects of the car. The price from the dealer is about $150 parts & $150 labor.

 

I find maintance light totaly stupid and useless, is just another way for dealership to get more money out of you.
Its like a fuking timer that blinks every 7.5K miles... Any responsible car driver does not need it, I always know when itis the time for me to do maintance.
