Main't Required Blinks

my maintenance required light blinks for about 5 seconds when I first start the car. Why is that?? I have 43k miles on the car? am I due for a 45k service?

it goes every couple of thousand miles. just hold the reset and select button for like 5 or 10 seconds and it will reset

If you do read the manual (hooked on phonics works great) it will tell you how to reset it.

yes. its just there to remind you so you dont forget. i think once you get to 500 miles or something it stays on all the time. its no big deal, if something goes wrong (tranny) the check engine light would go on and you would def be able to tell that there is something wrong.

Yeah, it's due for service within the next 2K miles. The light will blink faster and faster as you approach the service interval.
