From what I can tell, the eBay ones that go for cheaper are aftermarket knock-offs -- the one's on c-c-c.net are genuine BMW parts.

Has anyone ever tried fitting a Solara wing on a CL-S? Save the negative comments on the Solara, I'm only interested in how that wing looks.

The Solara wing topic have been brought up in the past, but I don't think the spoiler itself will fit on our CL, I believe it was too short for our trunks, the M5 on the other hand, fits perfect!

The M5 spoiler goes on with adhesive tape. Can the spoiler be removed at a later date?

Of course...

btw, are the knock-off M5 spoilers just as flexable as the real one?? Because you are going to have to bent (curve) it a bit to make it fit end to end on your trunk.

Good luck! It's a great eye candy.

That's the thing... some of them are NOT as flexible. We've had several people order the authentic BMW spoilers from us after they tried to install one of the replicas from eBay. When they're trying to do the slight bend on the spoiler to line it up with the CL/TL trunk line they have cracked. So it's kind of a crap shoot with the replicas... some may be good and others may not....

Just try it before you paint it... that way you don't pay to have it painted only to have it crack on you. The paint will stiffen it a little bit... but it's not what causes it to crack... so I'd just check it first....

good news guys........i just installed my M5 spoiler today.the install was very easy.....my only warning is to try and keep the sticky tape off of the trunk until you have it lined up perfectly.....this is very hard to do.....but dont worry if you do....itll come off with some pulling.....and secondly.....when you are trying to remove it due to it not being lined up perfectly....make sure you lift it as if your going from the back of the car to the front....you dont want to make creases in the paint by pulling it sidewayz.....and do not mash down on it unless you are satisfied with its position......if you do however and want to change it....just heat it up with a blow drier and stick some small string under there and lift it up........

all in all.....the spoiler is DEFINETELY worth it.......it loooks SOOO very cool......makes the car look totally sportier in a classy way.......and i got mine off of e-bay for 40 bucks and it was plenty flexible........if you wanted to....when your getting it painted at the body shop, ask them if they can bend it for you.....i think that the place i went to might have done it for me......cuz it was perfectly bent to my trunk when they gave it back to me.......
