LS1 vs CLS (I need nawzzz)

LS1 vs CLS (I need nawzzz)
It was pretty ugly.
LS1 w/ ram air hood, cutout exhaust, heads, cams, and pretty much everything else.
vs
CLS with HKS exhaust and AEM Intake
From a stop, first gear I was up a couple of feet. Then second he started to pull. When we hit third and he was gone. I got spanked by about 5 cars before we quit. It would have been worse but he took it easy on me.
So we uturn to go again because my friend thinks it is funny and then out of no where there is a old 5.0. My friend in the ls1 gets next to him and they go. The Trans Am pulled by about 4 cars before shutting it down. I tried to get next to the mustang but traffic made it tough. The mustang keeps "jumping" but I had a car in front of me .
My lesson was learned and if you ever get a chance don't race a white ta with a flawless racing sticker on the back unless your quicker then me.

Nice death. LS1s are sick watch out for their 3rd gear! I had a race with a LS1 and it went almost the same way. I hung in til he hit 3rd and he pulled away like a rocket!

Yeah but not by much maybe a foot. The best part was the sounds of our cars. Off the jump I was next to him listening to this monster. You start to think with all that noise he should be whooping me. Then you hit third and they jump up 5 cars so quick it is not funny. Maybe when I get my nx kit put on I can hang with him somewhat. We will go again and video because the way they jump on us it is unreal.

bent...you're probably gonna need at least a 100 shot to keep up w/ one of those bad boys, especially with all those mods he has...good luck though, i hope you beat him next time

Zootking why don't I just borrow your car? What are you running the quarter in because your sig is everything I want. My only concern is the tranny. I am probably going to go 75 or 100 shot direct port. I ran 75 on my v6 accord (non direct) but I never used it. It is tough to run 100 with a daily driver.

mine is direct port, im gonna bump up to a 100 shot this week, so i'll let you know how that goes. As a far as a daily driver, mine is and ive had no problems yet (knock on wood). My 1/4 times arent reflective of how fast this car is, 14.0@107...i need some better tires to launch w/ and i think i'll hit low 13's or maybe high 12's w/slicks, so we'll just have to wait til spring....

Nice try.. Those LS1's are killers, with those mods the guy should have close to 400hp. I don't think I would of even wasted my gas to run this guy.. But good try none the less.
Zootking, with 100 shot, and good tires, do you really think that our boat can get into the 12's?? If so, that might be my next investment. Hope everthing works out for you, good luck!!

U guys are kidding me. With heads with stock C/R and mild cam he should have around 400-410rwhp and 385-400rwtq. That is around 476HP and 465TQ. Also F-bodies weighs 3450lbs at the most. So CL-S with all the bolt ons plus 150shot will still not be there with a heads cammed LS1. A full bolted CL-S with 150shot will still cant beat a bolt ons LS1 since some of them had run 11's with just bolt ons let alone a heads and cam LS1.
Zookting, how big of shot did u have with ur 14.0 at 107 run? That is a very good trapspeed though for a CL-S.

Fast Gold....its a 75shot for now...also i wasnt telling bent09 that he could hang w/this particular LS1, you're very right as far as with all that work there is no way in hell our cars would be able to hang....on the other hand, an LS1 w/ a little bit of work i think we can handle, well at least i have....anyways w/the 100 shot should trap 109 or 110 hopefully and with good traction i hope to hit high 12's....anyways that's still a few months away
