lou offical owned me last night as he handed me my first lost. I know this should be in racing stories but it is more than just that... lou benz is freaking fast he smoked me by at least 2 to 2.5 cars last night all 4 times we raced. He wanted to buy a supercharger and this and that because he thought his car was a dog it is not....the benz by the way sounds fcking bad ass, so dont get tricked out that lou benz is slow it hauls some ass. plus he handed me my first lost. iam sure you have all seen lou posts about this and that about the benz so you know what iam talking about.....:P

 

Race again when there's some SNOW on the ground and see who wins.

 

I thought the new TL would have done better. Sounds like to me its no faster than an auto CL-S.

CLK430's are pretty fast, especially with some sticky tires. The torque from the V8 helps too.

sounds good, did you guys run off the line or from a roll.

 

they raced three times from a dead stop and once from a role.. the role lou was about a car and a half ahead, i have it all on tape.. good runs. and the tl is a fast car, the mercedes was just faster thats all.. vin is 100% stock

 

I think the CLKs are a bit deceptive. My friends CLK AMG55 doesn't feel super quick but it is a low 13 sec car.

its got 3000 miles its an auto. i knew from the get go lou was gonna beat me. my friend has the same exact car and i know his was fast i just wanted to see what the tl would do, the torque on the benz got me it had a lot of grunt well comptech better get cracking on these mods for the new tl.....

Kleeman suspension, 18" HRE with Dunlops, Eissenmann exhaust....IM thinking of switching to K&N air filters thats it.

judging by how the race went Im thinking the Benz is a good 14.5 - 14.8

Maybe I'm incorrect, but Vin, wasn't it true that you couldn't drop below 15's in the 1/4 with your TL the other day? I raced my friend's father's CLK430 with my CL with only an intake. It was VERY close, but I won by a hair. I'm guessing Lou's car runs mid 14's?

well the dragmaster was in my car while we ran and he thought I can run close to a stock cl-s...

I would like to run the car at the track just to see what it can do...but like I said mid 14 is what most people are doing.

 

14.8 is vins best time, so yah i would say judgeing by the tape i guess mid 14s is what lou's car would do. but hey u never know could be faster could be slower, the only way to know is the track.. or next time i see u lou gtech, i forgot about that lastnight

 

yeah but did u race a full quarter mile...or til like 95mph. Ya never know what could happen in mid third gear..

 

u guys are under etimating the benz, its 1.1 liters bigger, prolly weighs the same if not less, has a trq, hp, rwd, and gearing advantage, y wouldnt it win

even with headers i think the benz will pull on a auto cl-s in 3rd and def in 4th gear

 

actually even though all the specs. make it fast I dont think its a 14 sec car..

the auto tranny is geared for highway driving so 0-60 is like 6.1 seconds...most guys change the differential gearing to 3.07 and improve their 0-60 drastically

the sport shift does the shifts so smooth that it doesnt shift quick...

the traction control even tho it was off it still blinks when it senses the tires spinning

my cl-s 6 speed was very quick off the line while the benz bogs down and then goes..it doesnt feel fast whatsoever...

 

lou its a 14 sec car i dont know what else to tell you and i think lou would beat a cls auto even with intake and exhaust the car has grunt....my dad has an 03 e500 and tha shit hauls ass. benzs are geared a certain way that out acura are not...

Just curious is there a gear ratio difference between lous clk430 and a 99 e430 and what is the weight difference. My dad has the e430 and it does bog off the line and is definately slower than the 6 speed. I just drove the e500 and clk500 the other day, and they are night and day difference from the 99 e430. The e500 and clk500 are just as fast if not faster than the 6 speed.
