cool video but MY GODDDDDD that whining motor is soooo annoying, what the hell is making that horrible sound??? its unbearable....you guys, just a warning, watch this with the volume down

btw, sounded like a civic racing in reverse.

 

its the turbos whirring as they reach high rpms...plus Lotus's V8 Turbo powerplant doesn't sound like domestic V8's, it is noticeably more high pitched for some reason...anyone know why?

 

the vid looks like it was an e36 bimmer. i'm sure that was not a lotus.

 

DAYYYYYUM that noise is annoying as hell. I had to turn it down. Its funny how it seems like no one else is racing.

it's not a BMW

 

That is no V8 Lotue.It is BMW E36 as the sound that is no Turbo..it is the sound from gearbox..that is what straigh cut gear sequentail sound like.

 

Euro V8's are usually much smaller in displacement than American V8's. Therefore a higher pitch exhaust note. For example: a racing vette has a 6.0 litre V8, a racing Lotus has a 3.5 litre V8.

How about that motor? It's blowing everything else on that track into the weeds. Has that car got a transplanted BMW F1 motor in it?

Is there a 320i here in the states? Dont think so. so im guessing its a newer, lightweight chassis with the older e30 m3 engine dropped in and a crazy super close-spaced tranny. Sure was smoking lots of nice cars tho

That sound isnt from the tranny, It is mostly resonance problems on the Video cameras Mic.

 

The sound is from the unrestricted unsupported (no bushings) turbos.

looked like a bunch of 'vettes racing. One CORvette and alot of CHEvettes....

 

Watching right now,... looks like this guys going to win I think he could have done better if his start position didn't suck soo bad... Yes the sound is annoying but whatever the videos kickass!

 

As mentioned above that wasn't a Lotus. I can't speak for dutch racing, but I can tell you BMW (the car in the video) hasn't made a turbo engine for many years!
