Angry lost to a saturn!!!!

so i was coming home from work last night and i noticed a pretty sweet looking saturn sky redline at the light. It was an older guy with an older lady riding shotgun. We were side by side doing about 60 i was in third (sporttronic) but didnt think the old guy would race me. Next thing i know he takes off i mash the gas a second later but he is inching away from me. I think it would have been adifferent race if we both left at the same time but that was my fault. Also the exhaust was loud as hell i am not sure if it was modded.

Ah no, they are turbocharged. The red line SKY that is. I think your thinking of the RedLine coupes . SKY=260HP and with just a ECU mod they can push 340HP. And they only weigh 2900 Lbs. I've ridden shot gun in one with the ECU mod I/H/E and I'll bet not even a blown CLS-6 would touch it in the 1/4 or on a track. Just no way no how.

I'd even bet a NSX would get its ass handed to it. (Let the flame begin) Just calling it how I see it. Just based on the one I've been in.

the ion redline has the 2.0 LSJ Supercharged, just like the 05-07 cobalt SS/SC. The Sky redlines have the 2.0 LNF Turbo engines with 260hp if it's 5MT. They can be beasts with just a tune, over 300 tourque to the ground.

Anything saturn won't reach 100K miles..
Tell him you'll race him again when he has 99999 miles and we'll see who wins.
He will blow his motor before he reaches 20mph.

Saturns are just like ever other chevy...fast but junk.

Of course, not like I've ever seen a GM product make it over 100K miles! That's well founded statment!

Seems a little funny comming from someone who owns a car that has a reputation for having 2 to 3 and sometimes 4 trannies before it reaches 100K. Good job!

Wasn't the saturn sky a rebadged opel speedster or something? So technically...loosing to a sky isn't the typical "i lost to a saturn" situation...right?

has all the features my TL did, it's stick, and has a hell of a lot more potential than my TL ever would. You may call it , but I'm pretty happy with it. Last AZine meet i went to everyone was begging me to let them drive it, and when they did, they all loved it and kept wanting to get back in it. The whine is pretty addicting.

Oh and before you pull the big spoiler joke on me, I'm wingless, thank god. Got a new trunk with no spoiler holes for the clean look.

"Of course, not like I've ever seen a GM product make it over 100K miles! That's well founded statment!" Actually it is based on my experience....

My buddies 03 saturn with 90k on it the engine just blew up!?!? He takes care of his cars....He has a 02 GTI and a 01 TT...they run great...He swears he will never buy a crappy Chevy ever again.

I've had 4 honda/acura and 2 chevy's cars. Both my chevy's trannies crapped out before 60K. All my honda/acura's have been great (including my CL-S with 90K still original tranny)... My 95 integra had 190K on it and sold it for 6K still running strong. See if you can do that with a chevy.

Yea...some CL's might have bad trannies..but at least the rest of the car is prime. Not like cheap made chevy's that the bulbs burnout before the car has 10K miles.

Drive down the road and pay attention to all the chevy's with bulbs burnt out..you'll lose count there are so many. Cheap parts for cheaply made cars.

Saturn cars (definitely not worth buying)
3/22/2005 San Diego CA

About a month ago I was going to work when my engine started making noise and blew up, leaving me stranded on the side of the road. I was forced to walk to work on a very busy highway.

My 2002 Saturn S-Series is only three years old and has had all the maintenance requirements done by Saturn themselves. Saturn is now requesting $5500 for a new engine. They do not want to pay because the warranty has since expired. They have not even offered a loaner car for my inconvenience.

One of the reasons I bought a Saturn was their reputation of reliability and good customer service. Well, I have seen realize that their logo/advertisement of "People First" is just a gimmick. In addition, they now send me a letter saying this car is man made and problems will arise. I have not gotten anywhere with sending letters to the company. If I would have known their cars were so unreliable then I would have bought a used car and take my chances. I am still paying for this car and now it is in the shop waiting for me to pay for an engine.

no offence dude...but it's ugly. i'm not a honda fanboy. in fact I HATE civics. so to me it's the same thing as i say about a civic: it can be as fast as a ferrari; but it's still ugly, inside and out. can't fix ugly. sorry. i've driven/ridden in one. those guys at that meet must have big problems with their cars cuz it aint nothin to write home about as you described.

Of course there are people who will think it's ugly, just personal opinions. Same goes for any other car. I've had 0 problems with my car and most people who do have a lot of problems are pushing way too much heat with a tiny pulley and pop the motor. Gotta love meth injection to cool everything down with my tiny pulley.

Oh and just to point one thing out, spark plugs are NOT a mod. lulz.

I really doubt your Chevy has all the features of a luxury vehicle. Memory seats - NO, Heated seats - NO, Power seats - NO, Auto-Dim Rear View Mirror - NO, Front side airbags - NO, you get the point. Fast or not its still a Chevy. I've been in one and the interior looks like it was made in china. Everything is hard cheap plastic. I mean one of your available features is a Power Glass Sunroof.......come on hasnt almost every car with a sunroof since 1995 or before at least had power sunroof? My 1996 ACURA Integra had it and its a 12 year old car! Faster i'll give you that, cheaper i'll give you that too. Theres a reason why you got it so cheap.......think about it

I have heated seats. I have side curtain airbags all around. As for your sunroof argument, you either have the option of no sunroof or a power one. There isn't an option for a manual sunroof. As for memory and power seats, It makes it easier not to have that on a 2 door when i constantly have people sitting in the back. Interior being cheap, yes it is. The hard plastic doesn't warp like the dash of my TL did. Yes, it's cheap, yes it's quick (i wouldn't say fast), but I like it a lot more than my TL. I'm not really wanting a luxury car right now, if you want to classify a 2nd gen TL/CL as luxury, I would rather have a fun car when i'm young and switch to a real luxury car like a BMW when i'm older and get my job when i graduate college in a couple years.

Please quit trying make your CL sound so much better, I've owned both and i'm happy with my decision, and i understand you think differently. It's all just a personal opinion anyway, just drop it.

The fact that an 03 CL-S with 100k miles on her is the same price if not more than a BRAND NEW COBALT speaks for itself.

also, bitches love leather seats, heated seats, HIDs, and cars that look like money. and the cobalt looks like those power wheel things we had as kids.

Your smoking CRACK! Your 100K CLS -6 is worth dick! You'd be lucky to get 13K for it! I've seen them go for less. The Cl does not and will not hold value like other Honda and Acura products.

And I'm sure the woman love it when you call'em "bitches" right!

Show me a car builder that does NOT have stories like that. You can find more of them here on Azine then I've seen on any other forum!

And I'm sure the woman love it when you call'em "bitches" right!

Are you a dumb ass... I 've seen cobalts advertised on tv for 10K. NEW. AND LOOK AT THE ABOVE PICTURE NOT ONLY DOES IT LOOK LIKE SOMETHING OUT OF "A BUGS LIFE" MOVIE... ITS A GIRL CAR!!!......

And on the bitch note, I have something called common sense, and I know some words that are hurtful and you dont say those to certain people. ie, bitch = no no to women.... and ar-tard = no no to you. =)
