Longer wheel studs

Has anybody changed to longer wheel studs due to aftermarket wheels or spacers. If so, manufacturer and part # would be appreciated. Plus what length were they.

I can get the part information for you later (I think I have it at home) , but I got them from Summit Racing. If I had to do it all over again, I would NOT do it. More hassle than it's worth.

NSX-Tuner has the Comptech studs on his SC CL-S6. I think Comptech starts with the ARP studs and cuts them down. If you use the ARP studs out of the box, you'll need open faced lugs.

I HIGHLY reccomend AGAINST doing this to fit a wheel onto our car. Get a wheel that fits already, otherwise your asking for trouble.

NSX-Tuner has them due to a Big Brake Kit, which requires it so thats different, but for wheels I highly reccomend against it.

The rims that I have fit fine. The new lugs that I have to use are opened faced lugs. The lugs have the same amount of rotations as the stock ones but they are longer. The track that I go to requires that if you have open lugs that the stud has to be flush with the end of the lug or past. Now due to the length of the stud and type of lug I can't go to the track.

Ok, thats different

I thought you were one of the many who recently felt the need to stick on wheels that are not at all designed for this vehicle.

WHy do the wheels require open face lugs though? Seems strange.

Couldn't you just cut the lugs down, or a make up a set of cut ones for track use?

edit: I'm an idiot didn't read your sig to see what wheels you had before I typed.

The dp6's are one of those wheels that have multiple bolt patterns. The lug holes are very skinny. You have to use lugs that have a socket adapter from the top since there is no clearence for a socket on the sides.

The longer studs came from a CompTech NSX 12.4" BBK and are ~59mm long (overall length) which make them about ~7mm longer than stock front studs. I had custom wheel spacers made that were hub-centric and were only 5mm thick. According to CompTech, this is about as thick as you should go to keep things safe.

So with the longer studs and 18x7.5 +48 Volk LE-37T wheels, the 13" Brembo Front BBK fits perfectly. I'm also running 235/40ZR-18 Michelin P/S PS2s and have no rubbing issues.

Thanks NSX-Tuner. I'm running a 235/40/18 on a 18x7.5 w/45 offset rim so I don't have a problem with rubbing or fitment. It's just a matter of having the studs go past the lug for track purposes.
