LOL .. ghettofied my intake
I took my front bumper off to discover that my AEM cone filter was bent pretty much in half from an earlier altercation with an iced-up snowbank. Kinda like this

But more severe lol .. And that big hole opened up again. [ Earlier in the year, the bracket connecting the intake to the car, broke at the welds, opening a huge hole in the intake ] So I took it upon myself to ghettofy it until I can afford an Injen intake. I'm jobless at the moment. =/ So, I wrapped the hole with green duct tape, then aluminum tape to "camouflage" it.
I decided I didn't want to put the cone filter back in, it was filthy and beat up anyway .. so I ended up taping an old T-shirt where the filter should be, hopefully it'll stay and not open up.
Putting it back in the engine, I notice that the intake slams against the edge of the hole in the engine bay a lot .. so I decided to go even further and made a "pillow" for the intake so it doesn't crack again. A towel wrapped in green duct tape .. FTW !! End product ::
I swear, I never laughed so hard at myself. Don't worry though .. This won't be on for long.

I know you said this was temp. but a buddy of mine awhile back put a sock on his RSX type S's AEM intake, taped it on real good, ya know. well after a short drive came back to the house, pop the hood and the sock... yea it was gone, almost got sucked into the intake mani. we had to rip off the intake, and give it gas to open up the trap and quickly grab the sock. would have been in a whole load of shit had it gone through. JUST to let you know but im sure you already thought about it?
