I used to belong to a VW club in Colorado. I got to drive a members R32 with a t3/t4 intercooled set up. He was right about 310whp. I have to say it was one of the funnest cars I've had the plesure of driving. Not the fastest but just all around fun to drive.
I would buy a used one but they are just too much money. There is a lot of competition in thier price range.

raced a 5.7 6 speed GTO and an e36 M3 Vert last night.
the dude in the GTO was real cool younger dude who used to own a tl. he said that he wanted to run at about 45mph so we honked 3 times and i got the jump on him (2nd gear) and kept it steady with him up until 80 when we let off.
Did a few more runs from a 2nd gear roll and it was the same result with him pulling on me around 80-90.
overall pretty quick car but we had to shut it down because he saw his brakes smoking and got a bit scared.
ill take that loss/win
so im heading back to the crib and a dude in a silver e36 vert is driving ahead of me. top open, mohawk gelled up hair blasting techno music.
i pull up next to him at the light and roll my windows up because im on the phone and i dont wanna hear that shit.
light turns green and i pull off regular and i hear him goose it real hard. sounded real nice too but it wasnt going anywhere. he just floored it to get my attention.
i down shift into 1st (crazy,. i know) and chirped the tires to give him a scare.
i hear him floor it again and his car starts moving up (he is next to me now)
i punch it and fight the steering wheel, traction in 2nd comes wayy too late but i proceed to put about 5 cars on him until 80.
he rides waaaaay back there for the remainder of the road.

On paper anyways....
1998 M3 coupe 0-60 is rated at 5.9 sec's. And a road holding index of .92g's. Far better than a cls.
2003 CLS6 0-60 is rated at 6.57 sec's.
So from the factory (or in stock form)the M3 is the faster car.
If I had to choose between the two I would take the M3 hands down.

The E36 M3s and stock E46s are slow as shit.
The 5.7 GTO is quick, but not fast. I wouldn't waste my time with a 6.0 GTO though. Those are fast.
Motor Week also states a 14.5 in the quarter while members here can manage a 14.2 stock. Hell, the 7th gen Accord coupe 6MT could manage a 14.2 as well. There are way too many factors to consider when we compare numbers like these, from elevation to track temp to tire temp to ambient temp.

I was at the track yesterday. 1/4 run 14.1
Killed '10 Sti hatch and lost with e46 m3
Sti ran 14.3 and m3 did it in 13.3 (both stock) so i dont think that e46 is a slow as shit as someone above posted.
None of CL i know can beat it on the drag. Maybe if m3 suck but thats the other story.
There was alot mustangs gt new 2011 shelby gt, benz sl 55AMG and two 07-08 tl type s. One of them was turbo guy was claiming that he got 340whp and he ran 14.6 and the other tls ran 14.7.
Was fun the sti guy could not belive it that beat him. Lol

ok so today i finally ask my friend to race me 
he's got 2006 G35 6MT with Injen intake the rest is stock we did it from a roll. from 40 to 120 from 50 to 110 and from 55 to 130
i got him about 2 car lengths at first run and last one... i remember last time i raced him it was pretty much even but he was pulling a lil bit on me... he was so shocked and he couldn't belive that what happened
after last weeks test drive of new mustang GT my CL felt so slow lmao but today i saw the differance.

i have to say im very very desapointed for the interior quality i just dont like it but the power of this 5.0 is nice almost neck snaping... i drove 6MT 5.0 GT with price on the sticker about 37k. if u would go with this car, no matter what option you gonna get interior plastics feels and looks cheap its not like you have in honda/acura that everything is nice soft to touch... gearbox feels right i could say a bad word but the clutch is the same butter soft as in the CL i hate it and also grabs at the end. if that car had hyundai warranty i would def go for it... but to be honest i like my CL more i'd take CL with this motor and RWD
