Lincoln LS V-8 vs. CL Type S
Lincoln LS V-8 vs. CL Type S
I made a new believer! I work for Ford, and always drove Hondas. Co-Workers always talk trash; I just laugh them off. Well this morning getting out of work I was on the highway crusing 80mph. I saw a car in my rearview catching up quickly. I'm thinking State Police so I slow down & downshift to 3rd. As the car got closer I noticed it had fogs so I'm thinking it couldn't be a trooper. I then started to accelerate slowly so I just in case it was; I wouldn't be getting pulled over. As the car got closer I noticed it was an LS. By the time he was at my rear bumper I had the rpm's at the vtec point. When we were side to side I noticed it was my co-worker flipped him the bird & he went for it. I saw the front end of his car raise up a bit as he was TRYING to take off on me. It didn't happen I ate him for breakfast. I had 2 car lengths on him by the time I went to 4th gear. I pushed it up to 142 and the car was still pulling. Then slowed down to let him catch up. We pulled over and chatted on the side of the highway for a few. He was in awh over what a rice burner could do. He liked the interior, navi, and HID's.
My supervisor has one too. He's next.
Bye bye boss.

Nice kill, sorry to hear that Ford and Firestone/Bridgestone will not be working together anymore. Do you think the Explorer recall will hurt sales dramatically for the new 2002 explorer?

All in all, Ford did an excellent job with the LS. Other than the fact they raped the Jaguar S-type for most of the design its pretty nice. All they need to do is shave $8,000 off the price and it would be a good deal. Paying $39,000 for questionable build quality just doesn't work for me.

well, rice does contain more quick releasing energy than pork, so burning rice should produce more engery more quickly than burning the sam amount of pork.
so duh, of course a rice burner's gonna win.

Wsa it a V8 or V6? Not that it would make a big difference!

I was looking at the top line lincoln. I get every ford, mazda, mercury at sticker price because of a discount through my employer. As far as looks go the lincoln looks nice in black and silver(can be pimped out real well). Costs WAY to much money and the engine doesn't produce nearly enough horsepower for the v6 or the v8. That's what turned me off to it. I'd rather buy a type-S TL, knowing what i know right now.

The LS V8s are not fast. 0-60 is about 7.5 seconds. The V6 with a stick is around 9 seconds.
Now, when the manual tranny comes out next year and the supercharger the year after that, well that's a different story =)

I liked the old mark V's trunk design. I also liked the 1st gen cl's trunk. Made them unique from the back, they should have kept a slimmed down 1st gen design for the 2nd gen's trunk.
