Lighting Question

I just had a bulb blow out in my fogs (only installed about 3 wks ago). I have the fogs tapped (the "on" wire, not power) into the side marker bulbs so that when you lock the doors, the fogs flash a couple of times. I'm assuming that accounts for the short life of the bulbs. Would it be ok if I tapped the fogs into the xenons so that the fogs only turned on when the main headlights are on???

As I said before, the parking lights flash when you lock the car...causing the fogs (which are currently tapped into the parking lights) to flash also...leading to premature bulb failure. Is there any other way to tap the fogs so that they turn off when the car or lights turn off???

I went ahead and put the 'switch' wire to tell the fogs to turn on directly into the front-right xenon fuse. Will this harm the headlight or the fuse? It works perfectly for me so I hope this is an OK thing to do...
