Life Expectancy of after market shocks

Such as Tokico blues/illuminas, Koni's, ect ?
I understand that there are many factors that may limit the life expectancy, so lets just say with a CT drop, and call it a day.
Been looking to replace the stockers, just seeing if I buy used out of black market of ACL/ATL, and seeing at what mileage the seller says they are currently at, how much longer till they go caput.

As long as they are in a proper application, they can last indefinately.

The only thing that would cause them to wear is excessive bumps in a daily commute and/or sleeve type coilovers.

I had 60K plus on my tokico blues and just replaced them all. pretty good if you ask me cause my car is lowered 3"+

Really depends how much you are lowered, if it's an 1-2" I'd say 100K+

great. Thanks guys
Fuzzy what'd ya pay for the Tokico's ?

P.S. The shock will not change teh ride Height at all (I know Coilovers you can) as far as adjustable shocks, it is just strictly the stiffness right ?

the koni's have two perches, one is the same as stock and the other is like half an inch lower

Tokicos were about the same as stock. And yes adjustable shocks are just for stiffness.

You can find the tokico blues on ebay dirt cheap. For the first gen they are like 245

Thanks Scott, but now, if I was to go with the Koni's (and put on the .5 inch lower perch) would I then require a camber kit ?

Tokico Blues for 2nd gen run about $ 285 on Ebay.

I had Tokico blues on my heavy V8 Tbird and they lasted about 60k miles. With stock springs. I would expect at least that and anywhere up to 100k. Heck my stock CL-S has 66k and the stock struts still dont feel too bad. I will likely replace them with the Tokico blues based on how good they made the Tbird feel.

I got around 70k out of my stockers before they started floating--20k with a CT drop, and then went to Koni Yellows.

Technically, quality aftermarket shocks should last longer than stock shocks. They are just built better and more durable. Lowering the car decreases the life of the shock because is stays more compressed and has to absorb more shock that the spring can help with because it is a shorter spring.
