A friend of mine just copped some LED tail lights for his BMW 3 series....it makes a big different and I like it a lot.

Anyone know where I can check out some LED rear lights for the '01 Acura CL-S?

You can repalce the bulbs with LED ones. But you need a special flasher to make the turn signals work. There are no replacement whole lights that are LED for a 2nd gen TL/CL.

im thinking about opening up my tails and making my own LED boards. but yea, you wont be able to buy anything worth it thats plug and play.

yea i have been toying around with that idea as well...been hanging out on the HID forum for a while looking at other ppls projects...it seems to be quite an undertaking ordeal.

yea, ive spent the last 3-4 months just READING. i started buying things because im doing it to my girl's SC400 tails. if you have some kind of knowledge in the electrical field its not a huge deal.

the only issue with the CL tails, i prefer the look of the 03 tails, but putting a board w/ LEDs in the clear corner won't look right, and theres really nothing you can do about it.

i think im just going to make the brake lights. actually for the CL its a very easy project, because our running/break lights are all one function. its a paint when you have just running lights, and just break lights, etc.

you can get a "sho-me" flasher unit for our application. once you decide on the amount of LEDs, you figure out the correct resistors, and just wire in the flasher unit. also you'll have to bake the lamp to get inside too.

I've really wanted to do this myself! I looked inside the trunk but it seems like a pain in the butt to even get the lights out. Getting them out did not seem obvious to me. Any instructions somewhere?

Ok, I'm by no means going to even attempt to try and put together LEDs on my own. But someone mentioned something about

LED Bulbs??

Do they have the same effect as LED lights? Will it show a nice pattern? Or just a single "DOT" per rear light? I just can't see how these LED bulbs would compare to the real deal.

LED bulbs suck...trust me you dont want them. waist of money and time.
