solder and glue... was that mentioned in the DIY you made? are you just glueing in the led so it doesn't move and mess up the connection??

Only DIY i've made so far is for the radio face. That one's pretty straight forward with what needs to be done. The gauges on the other hand are quite a bit more trial and error, unfortunately. Though, I have had excellent results recently using only single LEDs wired in parallel, and hot glued to the backs of the gauge faces. Than I solder the positive and negative leads from the entire set into the stock bulb holders (without any replacement bulb) and stick them back into their sockets. That description really makes it sound easy, but it's a very labor intensive process and can be quite tedious at times.

I think BigLizard had a video floating around here somewhere with his LED tails.

Read that entire thread, there's some good info in there that should help answer that question.

I was thinking of getting the 5-LED Bulbs from superbrightleds.com (4 LEDs radially up down left right and one LED forward) for the front road lamps. Think these would look better or just a single LED.

Also, would the over-sized brighter high-power LED fit in the space for the license plate light?.
Referring to the 921-x12 or T13 LEDs on this page http://www.superbrightleds.com/mini-wedge.html

Input on Ultraviolet LED color?

Just got my LEDs in yesterday and put them in everywhere (map lights, dome lights, courtesy lights, license plate, trunk, and my favorite: Front road lamps)... Got the 5-LED bulbs for the front (4 pointed around and 1 forward) and they're amazing. Light up the whole housing a lot better than any other setup I've tried.

Anyone else considering getting LEDs for the front road lamps, DEFINITELY go with the radially mounted 5-LED bulbs.

Cut the positive wire running to the bulb, solder in the resistor. Repeat for each bulb.

really not that hard, i wouldn't pay anyone to do this for me... if you can't do it just buy a bulb that fits its definately not worth it.

or go on youtube search, and follow their directions its really not that hard.

I bet there are several shops that would love to charge you for something like this. Even a mobile audio shop would probably take your money to do this for you.

Watch this, and read this, and this, and more videos for your viewing pleasure. Those will help you tremendously, and just about anyone else wanting to know more about soldering in general.

That's a specialty tag, not standard issue. I used 194 LEDs from Autolumination.com.

I purchased a Blue, 5 LED, 3 Chip (Very Bright) Oracle LED for my license plate. This bulb is so bright that it produced a glow 3 feet in depth covering pretty much the entire length of my bumper. I never got picked up for it, but I happened to be talking to an officer one day and asked him if the LED was legal/would cops bother me for it. He replied saying he was surprised that I had not got picked up for it yet. When I found out the fine was about $150 I swapped it out with a White, 5 LED, 3 Chip Oracle LED. This LED is just as bright as my first one, but not blue like I originally wanted.

Currently I have 7 color changing LEDs throughout my whole interior (maps, dome, doors, ect.). I am goin' 2 swap them out with blue Oracle LEDs because I have never seen LEDs so damn bright before! Here's the link for the Oracle LEDs: http://www.automotivelightstore.com/...S&Category=902

You could always just get 194 LED bulbs and install them like regular bulbs.

I went a different way however.....

you guys have to be careful with exterior lighting. If it isn't the correct color, you can be ticketed and even towed. Generally red and blue are reserved for emergency vehicles.. also if your lighting fixtures are not DOT approved, you can be towed. (ie you put HID kit in a non HID equipped car - ever wonder why most if not all of the actual kits (not the seller website) they say off road use only?)

^yea you def have to watch with the colors. i changed my road lamps to blue leds and my buddy has purple hids in his and ive been the unlucky one who got caught and ticketed for them.

a good led mod to do that weve done to ours is the turn signals. theyre yellow while theyre on and then flash with the turn signal. we replaced them with led bulbs that are white while running and change to flashing amber when you put your signal on. there is also another 194 bulb in the small yellow housing under the signal bulb. just pop that one out completely and it makes your headlights one solid color unless your signal is on. looks so much better in my opinion

You need to remove 2 screws to take the whole lighting assembly off. Then you can remove the socket from the top of the assembly.

Umm not sure what you're LED bulb looks like but if you just look at where the light is coming from, you can see 2 screws. It's a no brainer.
You can probably check the owner's manual to see how to change the light bulb too.
