LED light bulb replacements

Hey everybody,

I was shopping around yesterday at my local autozone in NYC and i saw some light bulbs that were made of LED lights. They only had a few of red stop blub replacements. The connector looks like a normaly bulb, but there are a large bunch of red Leds. I dunno if anybody had any experience with these if they are brighter or last longer. I wanted to check with all of you before buying some to try. I think led would last longer because of their design. Let me know.

If you look directly into them, they are bright (because LED are projection type lights).

The problem is they cast no light sideways, so your reflectors do nothing (and thus you lights actually look quite dim).

Personally, since the lights are mainly for safety, I wouldn't do it (and technically, the bulbs are labeled "for off-road use only".)

The only way it works is tiling the entire light surface with LED's (like the Caddies do).
