LED in corners question - relay?

If I put LEDs in my corners will I need a relay to prevent my blinkers from flashing really fast?

u will need resisters wired into the harness. OR if u search on the 2nd gen tl side, someone replaced the flasher relay with a slower blinking one. it was a few years ago where i read that.

thanks!

the resistors in the harness - do I have to take out the whole headlight? is it a real pain? I searched the threads and I read a lot about changing the bulbs but no one talking about resistors. Maybe they werent using LEDs....

you dont have to take out the headlights, you can get resistors with wire taps and just tap them on the back of the turn signals

is it easy? seems like it could be a pain, since there is no room.
i heard about changing the relay under the dash, that stops the hyper blinking. that seems easier

^ u can do that. Just find the correct relay. Its not had taping into the turn signal harness, just not a lot of room in the fender. So it would be easier to take out the headlight or the fender lining

Thanks for all the help. FYI: I found the relay under the dash, its the relay on the bottom. If you put your blinkers on you can feel around and its easy to find. It was tricky to get it out. Just get under there so you can see everything. There are 2 tabs one on top and one on bottom of the relay. When you pull them apart, you can take out the relay. Takes a good pull to get it out, a little bit of a pain, but not bad at all. I pulled it out to help me determine which one fits our car. Autoillumination has a lot of info on there relays and I was able to confirm the model # on my relay that matched there relay for LEDs

I'm interested to know this also, I got the "japanese" relay off of superbrightleds so I'd be interested to know for sure if it works

Does the slower relay slow down the rear incandescents if you dont swap them to LEDs as well?

Thats a great question. Im not sure but I dont think it would slow the incandescents down. I think it just slows down the actual clicking inside the vehicle. But Im not sure.
