learning how to stop... brake overhaul.

not sure where this belongs since it contains pictures and technical information.

the beginnings...

the end...

left front:

left rear:

right front:

right rear:

everyone takes real close shots of their brakes so you can never get a good look at how they appear with the whole car. i was concerned about clearance because some people noted 3mm spacers with 18x8 wheels. but i have plenty of clearance as seen from the following pictures. i am on 18x8 +48.

as you all can see i opted for slotted only which is providing me with even more surface area to bite down on. i feel the cross-drilled for our car serves little purpose unless the vehicle is being tracked frequently. also i recall people removing the shields on the fronts, i noticed mine are still on. not sure if this is an issue, everything seems to be working fine. i know a lot of you probably feel the red on the rear is a no go, but in person i think it flows nicely, the only thing is the rotors look so small compared to the front.

also thanks to rpm racing for exceptional service and a great job. i enjoy it each time i'm there. now i just need to do something about the extra rotational mass i gained.

got choice and rason to go slotted. i agree. the rear rotors though smaller in diameter still look good (even with the red calipers) and still serve their purpose. so we all know the reason for having larger rotors up front. looking sporty there.

Very nice. I'm sure you love them. Would have looked even hotter in black.

thanks.

yea, i actually wanted to do everything black, but was convinced otherwise. the cost was already adding up, it was either powdercoat just the rears or both. so for the sake of money, i went for red.

Looks good. I like the red just because the fronts are supposed to be that way so it makes sense to have the rears match.

FYI...
the rotora box weighs 64LBs. This is with each caliper and rotor individually packaged and boxed along with the brake lines and misc pamphlets/packaging materials.

the same box with only the OEM calipers/brake lines and used ebc pads/rotora slotted rotors. no packing materials came in at...
70LBs.

How long did it take you to install it? I'm gonna be due for brakes soon as they are starting to make that high pitched squeak.

their great. many people said they needed to bleed the brake fluid a second time, but my pedal feels real tight.

i dropped the car at 930, i dont know when they started work, but it was done at 230. keep in mind i did the entire front and rear.
