Labor and Installation costs?

I would like to know how much you guys (and ladies) usually pay for installation. For example, I am thinking about getting an aftermarket transmission cooler for my auto tranny.

-How difficult would this installation be?

-Someone told me it takes 4 hours for a transmission cooler installation. The shop charges $40 per hour for labor. Is that a good rate? And does it really take 4 hours for the cooler? (It doesn't sound very believable).

-I'm gonna start modding my CL real soon. How easy of an install is cold air intake and short ram intake? I'll assume I should be able to do it in my garage.

However that time of 4 hours for the installation of the Tranny Cooler isn't right.

Comptech says 1-2 hours for the install. This may be why that shop can charge $40 an hour.

Where are you getting $40 / hr? Usual rates are nearing $60 / hr in CA

Not all dealers. Mine charges $85/hr for general dealership like work. $65/hr for performance installations. They give such good pricing on performance installs to stay close to what other shops charge in the area.

Wow, so $40 an hour is good =). It's a place called Banny's down in So-Cal. (San Diego ==> Mira Mesa if you know the area). I get my brakes and oil taken care of over there all the time. Nice people.
