Koni suggestions
Koni suggestions
Needing suggestions from anyone on replacing my front shocks only with Koni yellows (not my rears), would this be problematic for me or not?? Unfortunately I think my factory shocks have seen better days, and I know if I were to get them replaced with factory shocks the price probably would be equal to the cost of the Koni's.
Anyone have any suggestions or comments on this?

well ... what is your motivation for going half ass (read: half way) on the ordeal? if you're trying to cut corners and save money, just know that eventually the rears will have to be changed. thats what happens when you put aftermarket springs on.
Well..
Unfortunately cost is a factor here (unfortunately I wish it wasn't), the reason I am going this route is because I am having one hell of an annoying squeak from the front right of the car. I went ahead and regreased the mounts up front for the sways, and added the suggested teflon tape as well to the mount points. Unfortunately this didn't resolve the problem, so I can't really figure what else I could do, or could be the cause of the annoying 'little bird chirping' that I am experiencing up front.
Now the noise gets worse when it get's colder, and to make matters worse it gets worse when it wet outside. I'll lift the car up and the noise will go away for a little bit, but as soon as i've been driving around for awhile the noise comes back so I am taking a wild guess that the suspension is settling (shocks mainly) so until it fully settles the noise disappears, but as soon as the the suspensions settles fully the noise if back.
Anyone else have any other suggestions?? I may have to get the old trusty can of WD40 out and spray all the mount points down for a temporary fix. Pisses the hell out of me because I can't trace down the cause of the noise.
Best guess is the shocks, so I hate to do things half ass but to get rid of the noise that to me is the best solution.

A thought
Try tightening down the bolts on your sways, that was making a chirp on my car, and i thought it was the springs. ABOUT the KONI's? I too am thinking about getting some because my rears have worn out do to the weight of my Box(subs). I lowered my car (put on pro-kits) would i do better with the shorter Koni's the ones that are like 20mm shorter or should i just get the yellows? I would think that the shorter ones might last longer, because they wouldn't be so compressed. ANY THOUGHTS?

If cost is a concern take a look at the Tokico Illuminas. Also ride adjustable, but a little lighter on the wallet.

All of the shocks have varying shock compression and rebound damping. Also, a given shock has a number of different valves that cause it to give different rates under different conditions. If you mix up different shocks between front and rear (without a really good reason, you could end up spending a long time getting the handling "right").
(If you're racing a car *and* have a shock-dyno, ignore my advice.)
