killed an SI, never knew they were so slow.....

i was screwing around with my friend in his 2001 civic si manual goin to the movies last night. i had two extra people in the car (adding about 400 pounds extra) and he was by himself. we ran three times and each time i had him by 1/2 car by the end of first then a car by 2 then rape when i would shift into 3rd. i was really feeling my car lagg cause of the extra people. i know civics blow, but not that much....and that stereo too, so muffled.

ive seen SI's run anywhere between 15.1-16.3 (completely stock) if you had 3 extra people in the car and still beat him, your friend needs to work on his driving skills.

It's slow to a CL-S but a pretty swift car.

Be careful, not many are stock. Mine has trouble hooking up in second gear.

A stock 99-00 Civic Si runs about 15.5; with base boltons they can run (very) upper 14s. With a turbo kit, they'll wipeout a stock WRX and run mid 13s. (I've seen a few of those @ Etown.)

The 2001+ Si sucks!! Honda needs to dump the Si and import the Type R

I think Acura plans to import the type R RSX, but no word on the Civic type R. the RSX should be sweet.

Yeh they do! My friend has one. When I used to street race, I gave him 3 car lenghts and the flagger signaled him, counted to 3, then signaled me. I spun bad in first, but reeled him in quick. Those things make the Focus look good...

my friend just got a new Si and he thinks it's the shit ... I haven't gotten around to running with him but i'm sure i wouldn't have too much trouble with it … just to make sure I think I’m just going to wait for my exhaust system to be completed than I’ll have I/H/E and a high flow cat … doubt he can hang with that ... BTW i have a 3.0

Nope! I'm not a Ford fan but, the SVT Focus totally outaccelerates and outhandles the new Si. The new Si is probably the slowest car in its class; behind the likes of the Mazdaspeed Protege, Focus SVT and SE-R Spec V.

What?!?! Don't kid yourself. EVERYONE is a closet Ford fan. It's just a matter of time before they come around to their senses. LOL
