V6 Mustangs are slugs...at least the 99 through 04 versions are. I beat one a couple of years ago with a stock 96 Maxima.

The Gt's are very quick. I owned a 99 GT (auto) that pulled consistent 14.6's in the Qtr with no mods. I raced an 06 GT stang with my Cls (auto) and he pulled away from me with ease. That was before I added the XS headers which are the ultimate bang for the buck.

The difference in refinement between the Mustangs and Acura Cl's is substantial. I would not trade my 01 CLs for a brand new GT.

^---Agree with you. For a mustang the newer GT is slow! Gotta go Cobra or Saleen IMO Especially with how they've dropped the price on them. They ok but for a domestic "muscle car" it is slow.

BTW I did not see that you were 1st G CL. I know I can beat a GT stock any day of the week

has anyone realized how slow 96-98 GT's are.

my friends 01 prelude with just an intake only loses to a 98 GT 5spd with intake, x-pipe- and cat-back by a car length.

A new STOCK Mustang GT can do high 13's (13.7-13.8) in the quarter. Unless you're supercharged, you wont touch him.

You're better off listening.... losers here like to take GT tags and put em on their V6s >.< and they think they gain 40hp, I walked a carlength or two on a v6 then called it quits (not really, I just hit the 105 limiter) and then I saw the one exhaust pipe and was quite dissapointed .... does that qualify for rice? what is american rice... burger? Anywho nice kill, it's always good to take the smirk offa mustang owners V8 or no V8.

Dude, I had no freakin idea they were that quick stock. I verified it, but I'm amazed nonetheless.

I drove an 04 GT and was NOT impressed AT ALL!

04's were 260hp/300tq and ran low-mid14's @ 100mph

05+ are 300hp/300tq and run mid high 13's @ 103-104mph
