coming home tonight came up to a older style mustang had to be early 90's or late 80's. car was debadge ,it looked like it had 2 1/2 to 3 inch daul exhaust with a big ugly snorkel scoop. there were 4 guys in the stang. guy in the passenger side lowers the window and is laughing and says i never seen a more fucken ugly car than yours, why did you buy jap crap. i said because this thing will kick your ass. light turns green he got a little jump and then it was over by 50 mph i was 4 car lengths ahead. came up to the next light and now there not laughing, this time he jumps the light and is a car lenght a head of me i jump on the gas by the time i shift in to third i'm over 6 car lenghts ahead of them.


these stangs are not as quick as the late 90's but a lot of young guys drive these one's around if only the dumb ass driver relized he was carring 600 pounds of dead weight. it might of been a race. i think , not sure of the horespower they push. but there must be a ton of after market goodies. i did notice the 5 liter badge on the fender.

 

Those guys were idiots. With 4 people in the car that is a lot of weight for the stang to drag with it otherwise it might have been a LITTLE closer. Didn' it feel good to prove the "american muscle, my mustang can kill anything" crowd was a bunch of idiots? I am so glad you destroyed them. Nice kill!

very true. The only problem with any stang is they are so easy to mod. Tons of aftermarket support. Those late 80's early 90's can be made as fast as new ones.

Oh I know the CLS is made in the USA (except for everyones favorite tranny) but the idiots in the Mustang didn't seem to know since they called it "jap crap". All I meant was that there is a certain group of people that are die-hard muscle car people...the type that worships the big American V8 cars like Mustangs and IROCs and dismiss anything else!

I had a roomate for a while that was a Mustang fan. He had an early 90s GT and he had done a ton of work to it. That thing was REALLY fast.

it was the case of the saturday night cruse with the druken buddies. the older mustangs are a young persons car and we have a shit load here, and civics too.

up here being a small town (less than 80,000 ) i honestly don't think there's a car that fast here( street legal) i may be wrong

win or lose i'll race anything if theres a clear road. theres only two cls and 5 tl's here and i have the only type-s so i get a lot of looks from people that dont really know what the car is.

my serial number starts with a 1
there were cl's built in japan and were sent to Canada and the Usa. if your seraiol number starts with a 2 you have a import.

 

I believe the cars that are built in Japan have the VIN number starting with a "J",
US starts with "1" or "4",
Canada starts with "2",
Mexico starts with "3",
and England is "S",
Germany is "W",
Italy is "Z"
while Korea is "K".

I don't think any CLs are made in Japan, they are built in US and Canada.

 

I don't know of them being built in Canada...but the rest of that VIN info is correct, grasshopper.

They were designed here as well, Pasadena if I'm not mistaken.

That crack about 5.0s being a young boy's car is kinda messed up. I'm in my mid 30s...but I can't afford a CL-S or an M3 or S4 or other more sophistocated performance cars...don't be so quick to judge. I'm not upset...just saying, yanno?
