does fix-a-flat work??

i've seen commercial and stuff on those fix-a-flat cans that seal and inflate ur punctured tires. Does those things actually work? If so does it still work when u still have a freaking nail or metal pieces stuck in ur tire?

reason i'm asking is i'm thinking about saving a few pounds by taking out my spare/jack/wrench and replacing them with a can of fix-a-flat. But again, if it only works when you have a puncture(meaning nothing physically still in the tire) then i'll rather keep my spare.

Oh, I would keep the spare and jack/ tools.

Fix-a-flat works, but know that it leaves one hell of a mess around your rim and tire after use.

I would bring it only if I were traveling to BUM FUCK EGYPT (Arizona Desert, Nevada Desert etc...) in case of a leak, otherwise, you have a jack, spare and shops by the millions in America...............

as mentioned before, use it as a last resort, unless you are planning on replacing the tire.

My trunk consists of: 1 disposable fire extingusher, 2 pillows to keep the empty spare tyre well from colapsing, and 1 can of fix a flat.

I've been running with out a spare and spare tools for 1.5 years now. Never have I gotten a flat, Tnx God, but always kept a can of Fix-A-Flat around just in case.

I had flats left and right with my older car, can went through cans every week, cheap tyres what do u expect. But with 3 nails in the tyres those cans WORK. But it is NOT a permanant fix, it can get u around for a couple of days till u plug what is leaking.

It leaves green glue and messes your tire and rim.

If you're goal is to save a few pounds, don't waste your time. The amount of weight reduction is minimal compared to the hassles you'll have when you take the FAF-filled tired to be repaired.
