Keep weatherstripping from cracking/discoloring?

Is there anything I can put on weatherstripping to keep it from cracking or turning white in the sun? My friend's 2001 TL is doing it already and I don't want to see my '03 CL-S doing that in the near future...

the early 01's may have that problem but older '01s are fine (aug-sep01 and older).
You may want to see your dealer for a fix.

I don’t know about CRACKING, but I always wipe a light coat of Johnson’s Baby Oil on the door gaskets in the fall.
This keeps the doors from freezing shut in the winter if it rains and then the temp drops below freezing.
I imagine you don’t see this problem much in Arizona, but I figure the oil helps keep the rubber soft.

The same process with whatever you use to condition your TIRES would probably help also.
Put a few drops on a paper towel and wipe over the seals.

I use a little WD-40 on a rag, once a year.

I would be cautious about using that, petrolium based products and rubber do not play nice together.

I also use the 303 Protectant. You can buy it through Performance Products. You can also get it at various boat stores (West Marine, I think). Prior to that I used the Zaino tire dressing. I also use it to clean/treat my hoses in the engine bay.
