Just going through my bills today (slow Friday at work) and thought I'd try and refinance my car. I was at 12.5% due to the fact that I had just graduated from college when I bought it (6/28/01) and hadn't built up much insurance, if any, to that point, AND didn't have one of my parents co-sign.

Anyhow, called up Wash. School Employees Credit Union (both parents are eduacators) and they dropped me 5.9%!!!

Cut my payments AND my term!!!!

SWEET DEAL!!!!

 

I did the same, then decided just to PAY IT IN FULL.........

Dang, i guess i lucked out? I financed my car @ 5.9% almost a year out--i've been out two years now--of college with good credit rating and didn't have anybody cosign. I didn't have a huge amount of credit built up because i hadn't borrowed any money.

 

Good move !! Use the $ saved for more mods

 

Was your loan from the start with the Credit Union or with Honda? I have a loan through my Credit Union and I think my % is around 8 percent? Maybe the percentage is lower now? This is my second car financed through them.
