We just ordered two 2003 Overlands with all the options. Should be in 2nd week of December. Lot nice interior and some extras on the exterior. Suede/Leather Seats like the IS300. New Wood steering wheel. Computerized Tire Pressure for each indiviual tire.
265Hp/325Trq engine. Supposded to do 6.7 to 60 and 15.2 1/4 Stock. But they won't be stock for long

Got Black one and Green one. Come with nice 17" Rims, wider offroad tires, new suspension. They made a lot of improvements off the 1999-2002s. Test drove one and it is just as quick as my CL. Also got a bunch of Mopar Acces like brush guard, skid plate, cargo tray. Shit like that. I will take pics when the cars come in. Can't wait to Supercharge this one. Kenne Bell is saying you can bring HP up to 360 and Trq at 3200 RPMS at 417. So We will see shortly.

Two because they use them for work and my mom uses one and my dad's partners wife uses one so they actually got three but the third one is theirs. And sadly enough he got rid of the 2000 Sc'ed Jeep GCL V8. Awaiting this one being supercharged.


BTW If I posted the car my dad just bought last week Shawn, or my sisters new car then you'd prob really get on my shit. I just love Jeeps so that was the other reason I posted this. And I can't wait to see what the New motor can do with the supercharger.

I had driven trucks for years, then decided to get my CLS for a change. Trucks are fine if you have a use for them, but the CLS put a smile back on my face again. No more trucks. I still have my Chevy Blazer that's sitting in my driveway collecting cob webs. Besides, what would I do with a 4X4 here in Florida, except maybe run over the old people in my way.

As far as Jeeps go, I like them, esp V8s ones, however I find that after about 20k they turn into total rattle buckets. Also, they dont hold their value for anything. Plus, I imagine they leased 'em, so its not that big of a deal, prolly at most 600/month. Thats chump change.

You should have really got Nissan Pathfinder ( built in Japan). Nissan has special now on financing, and customer rebate.

 

I should actually put in my 2 cents about Jeeps since my parents owned 3 of them between themselves and their business (92 Cherokee Laredo, 94 Grand Cherokee and a 01 Grand Cherokee) in the last 10 years, along with 2 Dodge pickups ('95 diesel ram and a '98 Dakota) and a '01 Chrysler Sebring convertible.

All of these cars have been reliable. Their 01 Cherokee had a rear differential problem that it went in for but that was it. I tooled around in the 92 Cherokee for nearly 8 years and took it in once because it stalled on me during a cold winter morning right after I started it up. Both the dodge trucks have been flawless, and their Sebring has been treating them well thus fair.

Maybe their results were atypical, I don't know. I'm sure we all have stories one way or another. Although I don't think for a minute that those vehicles are close to the refinements of our Acuras, just because I've driven both and the difference in fit and finish is large.

I've never heard that Chrysler transmissions suck, but I think we of all people should be the last ones to bitch about shitty transmissions in non-Acuras.

 

I agree with you Pappy. I grew up in a rural hick town (I don't live there anymore), and as such it seemed obligatory that everyone should own some type of a truck. Although, I think we tended to actually use them rather than today's suburbanite yuppy who buys an SUV to look cool. You can't exactly drive along ditch-banks to go irrigating and checking fields in a sports/luxury sedan.

I bought the CLS because I too wanted a change. I can honestly say that I will never, ever, go back to a truck or SUV for daily commuting. The difference in handling and power of my CLS is incredible. I may go so far as to get an AWD car down the road, but that's it.
