*UPDATE*
OK, so im working on the pulley right now and Im taking a little break to update you guys on the progress.
Everything is going smoothly, I took some good pics for you guys and im working on getting the CP Nut off. The 3/4" air gun that I was planning on using was broken by a student a few weeks ago when he dropped it and broke the piece that the air hose connects to. So Ive been trying to take off that nut and so far nothings worked and ive been trying to muster up the courage to do the starter method for the last 30minutes.
I WILL get that nut off sometime today and i'll do the diy writeup by tomorrow.

OK It is finished!! It took me about an hour and I must say that I am now an avid supporter of the starter method. It took about 5 blips and that nut came right off. and after that reassembly was easy as pie.
Now for the bad news, my camera died halfway through the install right as I was about to take a picture of the starter method. So im gonna see if I can take my car back to the shop tomorrow and finish taking the pics of the reassembly.
Now for more good news. The pulley is fucking awesome! You feel the rpm's spike alot quicker in all gears. And when our cars hit 4th gear it feels like we ran into a brick wall, and the pulley helps with that. And because the rpms spike quicker, vtec comes up faster than im used to . Its like I floor it and boom, vtec comes in. I fuckin luv it.
I gotta say for the money, this mod is so amazing and everyone should seriously get a pulley.

And yea I put them on with a friend, it took about 4-5 hours. The hardest part was taking off the rear exhaust manifold and re-torquing the nuts on the rear headers.
All mods will have more of an effect when they work with other mods.

So what are we talking about? Like under 1lb? Cuz the difference in weight between the stock pulley and the Option or UR pulley is like 7lbs, maybe more. And if it wieghs so little then I gotta question durability.

yes im sayin the pulley is a great cheap mod ... but light weight tires and wheels have an even bigger affect ... u can cut out 50 lbs plus of roational mass some have suggested it can be the equivilant of 150 lb static weight loss

Yea, like I had to take off my wheel/tire yesterday to do the pulley and it did not fel like 55lbs. Maybe 35lbs but definitley not 55lbs, but then again the weight is spread out so it isnt like your lifting a 55lbs stone that has all its weight densly packed into a small space. Were talking about 55lbs being spread out 22-24 inches across and 8inches wide so maybe thats why it feels lighter than it really is

finally got that puppy put on!!! Belts worked out just fine, and it is a little faster for sure. shifting is smoother (no miracles but yes... smoother). the Acura dlr needed their BIG BOY impact to get that damn thing off. Wish I had one but it was much cheaper than buying on for a particular job.

anyone know if 600ft lbs. torque is strong enough to undo the crankpulley bolt? or is 1000 required?
i tried doing this manually with all methods described in this thread (twice) and it still won't. will try impact guns next, then will bring to shop if all fails.

just slapped on my option racing pulley. Took me about 2 hours (20 min break) and everything works fine. At first m idle was a little higher then normal but it dropped to normal idle. Having both stock and the option pulley in my hand, there is a big weight difference. The only mod on my car is a semi cold air intake. Hopefully i notice some power gain. If not im looking for xs headers if anyone has them stored..

i sprayed wd40 on it, waited 10 min to setup my breaker bar and a pipe to do the starter method. didnt take any fuse out either i just turned the engine for not even a split second. I heard a crack and the pipe falling and i didn't think i did it right. I went to loosen the bolt and it came right off with little effort.

Well, I had it installed today by a trusted mechanic.
I also had timing belt work done as well.
However, we both noticed now that the car is making some UNGODLY noise when turning left and less so (same noise tho) when turning right.
He thinks the pulley isn't "doing enough" (my words, sorry cant' remember what he said) to move the belt with low speed turns.
I popped the hood later on and see fluid directly underneath PS reservoir but it's not empty, etc... what in the world??
Any ideas?? i'm worried...
