well, im just getting on the mass pike heading home and i get cut off by some blue mercedes with the top down. i guess he decided it would be fine to go through the toll booth all the way on the right and cut over to the left lane.

i get behind him close enough to see "///AMG" on the right side and i got an idea .

i pull off to the left lane right off the bat to try and mess with him a little, get him to bite. but by the time i do that hes already ready to race. he takes off way before im ready and damn is that thing fast. i finally catch him around 120 after hes off the gas, and hes ready for more as soon as the road clears. this time im ready but he still gets a jump on me before i hit it,i wanted to get beside him but i guess he figured that wouldnt be nessicary. i should start behind him because thats where ill stay, and pulled steadily until he had about 2 lengths. i wouldve loved for him to slow down a bit so i could start from around 50 but he insisted on keeping it above 80 the whole time over all i was damn impressed. that thing was a fast, i wish i had more time to play with him .

 

no shit man my friend has the same car and my dad has a clk 55 amg. those things fly and sound soo nice. apparently every 55 amg is hand assembled and signed by the assembler everytime.

 

even at highway speeds i could tell when he hit the gas by sound. sharp looking cars too.i wouldnt doubt that they are hand assembled they should be for the price

 

cool, next time test a sl65....

 

If im looking at the right sl55 model specs it has a 500hp V8...

Yep had a S65 drive off in front of me from the dealer, makes me think it was rebadged because of the quiet exaust but I guess it varies between the different 65 models.

 

SL65 AMG. wow. that thing is jus amazing.

 

you guys realize the 65 motor is a twin turbo charged V-12 with more torque then any diesel truck on the market from Ford, Dodge or Chevy lol. It has more then 3 times the torque of a CL and can out run almost any production car on the road. They do 0-60 between 3.9-4.2 depending on what model CL65, S65 or SL65. Some of their option packages are more then a used CLs lol. It would be like racing a Geo Metro with a CLs. (we would be the Metro :-p)

 

it was a 55, which is a little differant but still o-60 in 4.6seconds aprox. and this guy was out of his mind, he just saw me catching up to him and he floored it. then waited for me to catch up so he could laugh at me. i was happy just to see one on the road, cant say ive ever been driving side by side with one nevermind see one pass by on the other side of the road until then.

 

Sorry it's still the same thing having a CL-S when racing an SL55 AMG which is a high revving V8 engine that puts out 469hp and 516tq. You have absolutely no chance.

I died a painful death. But the bright side was driving it. It's such a nice car. If I had the $ that's the car I'd get. X10

i raced an sl55 before and i left him in my dust...












cuz he was too pussy to run the red light.

 

the 2003 sl55 amg has the same hp/tq figures as the E55 amg, yet the sl55 runs 13's in the 1/4 mile while the e55's have gotten 12.3's stock.


for 469hp i think the sl55 is pretty slow.

 

i saw a sl65amg and that is the best thing next to the slr..
