already test drove the automatic @ my mazda dealer 2 weeks ago. the car is VERY light, but the auto only has 207hp or something like that. 40hp less than the stick. I pulled up in my 7 then said I'm looking for a 2nd car. next thing you know the sales manager threw me the keys a black rx8. I loved the sound of the rotoray and handling was awesome. but I think the plastick engine cover that comes off is kinda cheap. any how I also test drove the mazda 6 and thought it handled suprisnly well for a fwd car. Much better than an accord or camary which ar in the same class. I also loved the red speedo. i think mazda is doing the right thing

Hi #######,

We haven’t forgotten that you’re a preferred RX-8 Fast Track Member. I certainly hope you haven’t forgotten either.

Here’s our private deal for you:

Get behind the wheel of a brand-new rotary-powered Mazda RX-8. Oh, sure, you’ll enjoy a rare feeling of exhilaration. But you’re a Fast Track Member, so you get more – a special $25 SuperCertificate.

Do this:

Click on the SuperCertificate icon. Print your personal Test Drive Certificate. Then hurry on down to your dealer for that advance test drive and your bonus.

Enjoy! And of course, Zoom-Zoom.

only took two months, one buy back offer, and a lot of bad publicity on the car to get something back from Mazda

Got the same email. Plus a call back form the lady at the local dealer.

Same thing: 'one buy back offer, and a lot of bad publicity on the car to get something back from Mazda ... I said the same. No thanks, I am not interested anymore with the RX-8. Maybe next year if Mazda came up and fixed for good the HP problem. How about a realy 300 HP Rx-8 edition with some 250 WHP!!!

Then, I will reconsider the RX-8.

Nashua.

I rode in one about a week ago. Nice car. The Navi screen pops out of the dash. The interior is nice. Engine reminds me of a snowmobile.

Test drove the rx8 in stick, let me tell you that thing felt slow as balls, i had to be well into that upper rpm band to get any power from that motor. Who the hell wants to drive around 8000 rpms daily. I mean this thing has nothing down low. Daily driving really isnt it's thing. The rotary sounded like a sentra rental car that Acura gave me a while back. The car handled like a dream though, one of the best handling cars i have driven. Then i test drove the 6, and although it's not faster when you are getting on it, it has a more usable power band, and that 3.0 litre duratech sounds sweet as hell. Also the 6 is the best fwd handling car i have driven. I think the 6 is wirth the money. The 8 will be if it had more torque and hp down low. Not bad cars overall.
