Interest: Carbon Fiber Engine Covers

Hi All,

I wanted to see if there would be some interest in having some Carbon Fiber Engine covers made to replace the current plastic pieces on the intake manifold and front valve cover?

I will be talking to our Carbon Fiber guy next week and wanted to get some kind of idea if we should just do one set (mine ) or if others would like them too. We did some gauge cluster surrounds for the Civic Si guys a couple of years ago and they turned out really nice.

I will be shooting for around a $500 price-point. I am almost positive that we will be able to do better, but just wanted to put some kind of reference out there.

Please let me know.

Thanks
Dean

Sounds pretty cool. Two questions from me:

(1) Price
(2) Can the hole for the MAP be moved a bit (or just made bigger to accomodate a slight non-OEM location)?

Any benefits besides the good looks?!?!

But $500 is a bit pricy though... so anything you could do might swing my vote for a "YES". (this reminds me of the $800 Mugen Valve cover I bought 2 years ago... Very expensive good looking mod that is hidden under the hood)

guage cluster - $100---$150...hell yeah
engine cover - $500...no fawking way
It's got to be much cheaper than that...we could take them to any body shop and get custom paint and even air-brushed designs on our originals for that money...

$500 sound right for real CF engine cover.

For my 2.7T I found an RS-4 Carbon Fiber engine cover that was $523. http://www.clairparts.com/accessorie...76&PDID=190215

As far as custom paint, 4pumped had his painted to look CF and it was $300-400 range I believe.

I'm with ANT7701 gauge cluster would be tight for 100-150 and engine cover would be good if it were a little cheaper

For a real carbon fiber engine cover...$500 is a reasonable price. Mine isn't even real carbon fiber and is was close to that price.

Here's a couple pics to get you guys thinking

$500 might be okay, but what pieces are included? cf kit for all the showing pieces would be nice... for that price.
