Instead of an AMG55 or M5, a Porsche 911?

Instead of an AMG55 or M5, a Porsche 911?
Men and women, I have tried in earnest to get my suddenly stock-happy father to get into a 911 Carrera (993 or 996 would both suffice) and test-drive the thing ... so he can think long and hard about whether to put down $75-90 grand (depending on year and use) for one.
Sure, an M5 or E55 AMG would be nice, but how about a Porsche? No comparison, right? He's stubborn: "Too impractical ... too impractical" mantra.
But in what ways is the Porsche practical? How does one justify plunking down so much money to purchase one? Hey, I KNOW (you only live once, buy a friggen' PORSCHE) ... he doesn't. How do you convince such a guy to at least consider a Porsche instead of a beamer or a benz?
Again, he's a rational, logical dude ... he just needs the hard facts. He appreciates German engineering and quality performance ... but he's a BMW fan.

PS: My little brother (a fanatic 14-year-old Porsche fan) has done the little things so far ... got a "toy" 911 model for the old man, changed the computer's desktop to showcase a 911 in its full and unadulterated glory, and compiled a "portfolio" consisting of 911 reviews, brochures, etc.

Actually, A Porshe is not that bad on a real road. I have also driven a few of them. The last a 2000 911. On pot hole ridden, & rough roads, it doesn't ride bad at all. I think my old Ford truck is worse. It only seats 2, though, & the insurance will be high.

They have all the seasons in Cali; sometimes all at the same time depending on where you are in the state.

benz amg e 55 will be my last choice..and my first choice will be m5 as it is powerful and cool and it is manual trans..porsche 911 will be my second and it has no turbo.....and it is still costly..if it is turbo charged.it will be defenitely my first choice
