Installing brake pads

Okay I was looking at the DIY to install rotors which seems fairly easy well I'm also going to get new brake pads, how much more work is it? Does anyone have DIY w/ pictures? The link has DIY brake pads too but it doesn't work... Maybe someone can explain me the process... Also where do you grease the pads at?

The process is easy, but you will need a breaker bar to loosen the caliper bolts.

Let some WD 40 or similar soak on the bolts for a couple of hours first!

Then it is a five minute job.

I don't think you need pictures, its pretty much self explanatory when you get the wheel off. (its really really simple) You would put the anti squeek (sticky red shit) on the BACK of the pad, towards the caliper. (you shouldn't have to grease anything)

you shouldn't need a breaker bar for the caliper bolts (i have never needed one), and you shouldn't have to wait more than 10 min for the wd40 to work. If you really need a breaker bar and your cheap like me, buy a foot long piece of metal pipe slide it over the ratchet handle.
Wear gloves, even as simple as $1 garden gloves so you don't bash knuckles if you slip off the bolt. (galvanized pipe is sold in cut lengths at diy stores such as home depot, bring your ratchet in with you to get the best fitting diameter, sometimes its threaded on one end)

you need tools. To take off the front rotorss, you will need a impact tool with a screwdriver head. You could just drill out the screws though seeing as they don't serve a purpose. Wrenches and sockets.

With the right tools, doing the brakes shouldn't take more than a hour.

You may want to get a pad spreader. They run about 10 bucks, or you could just use a big ass C clamp

You put the grease in the back of pads where the piston compresses the pad

I have never need an impact driver to remove the screw that holds on the rotor. I have done about half a dozen hondas/acuras...wd40 helped on one that I had stuck.

If you don't know where to lube the pads, you better pay someone to install your rotors and pads. Not worth all those troubles just trying to save that $50.

It actually does say in the Helms manual to use grease on certain parts of the braking assembly.
