Install AEM CAI for 6 speed

Install AEM CAI for 6 speed

Anybody install the CAI without taking out the front bumper?? Any suggestion??

The AEM parts is 21-509

You don't need to uninstall the bumper!!!! Just remove the plastic clip underneath and you can gain access. There are about 3 of those plastic push clips. Take those out and you can fold out the plastic piece.

i dont think anyone has ever actually installed the CAI by taking off the bumper!! hehehe is that actually what they tell you to do in the instructions for the CAI???

Yes, it says take off bumper for easier access.

Fawk, don't have the camera. Uhm if you look underneath the bumper right near wheel well. You'll see these round plastic things. Just pop them out and there is plastic piece that you need to pull down and you'll have access to what you need.

Do you actually have part number 21-509? Even though it's listed on AEM's site, I cannot find any online outlet for it. Someone reported (was it you?) that AEM has not actually manufactured it as of yet and it will be a 2003 release.

I guess that one is now real; now I really have to make a decision between AEM and the (future) Ice Box.

Let us know how your install goes and if it's a nice fit.
